A Young Liston in the mix with Ali, Frazier and Foreman?

    I agree with you about Liston as opposed to Louis. But if Louis is the greatest Heavyweight champion ever (as many of us feel, at least me) then again, it's like saying which bombing was worst; Nagasaki or Hiroshima. Both are above any other. As for no heart, anyone that saw the Williams fights, or any other besides the Clay fight would tell you different. That fight like the second Duran versus Leonard fight is an aberration. While the great Ali/Clay of 64 probably always beats Sonny, that fight is no mirror of Liston s true fighting spirit. Nobody knows what happened in that fight for sure.

    Disagree. A poor mans Louis does not equate to an ATG hwt champion. Liston had the power and a ram rod jab but all the particulars that makes an ATG an ATG were missing. The subtle defensive and offensive skilled, the ability to seamlessly blend offense and defense, timing, counterpunching, and combination punching which Louis had in droves was not readily apparent with Liston.
