He had intensity for sure...but you have to believe his mistakes and flaws would've been capitalized on by better/elite fighters
No, this is one of my fairer match-ups, if I wanted to make a mismatch thread it would have been fairly obvious, like Edwin Valero vs. Roberto Duran (though boxer1025 would find a way to pick Valero)
Yes, probably by someone on the level of Mayweather and Pacquiao but not Cotto. Cotto was never that talented to begin with he just had some heart and a size advantage at 140lbs over everyone he fought. Once he lost that edge all the elite welters beat the crap out of him.
Cotto in 10 at 140. VAlero's chin would have him last that long as it seem good. but he would be broken down
He barely beat a passive Mosley and probably lost to Clottey who practically gave away rounds. Had he stepped into the ring against Williams that would have been a massive beatdown. Everytime he steps in with an aggressive fighter he is going to have major problems.
Oh, okay. I had not idea you did intentionally fair ones. In that case, seriously, Valero did nothing at 140, Cotto was a monster there. Can't go with Valero. Although I'm not sure how good Valero could've been against someone of Cotto's caliber. Going by what I've seen of him, he did seem like the type to step it up when the type came. Too bad we won't know.
What is this a joke Cotto by murder Valero sadly RIP but the guy was a shitty brawler. He was way smaller than Cotto too. Cotto outboxes him and Ko him in mid rounds.
