RM comes out fast, not landing much, lands small left, GL landing some good straight rights, waiting to counter RM, GL seems to only throw when his backs are on the ropes. Quiet round

Lorenzo looks to be in cruise control for round 3. Marquez is trying for the most part. He's game but didn't do much that round to really make a mark. Could've gone either way.

10-10 even....damn you 10 pt must system.

 

Rd. 4.

Marquez forcing the action, lorenzo backing up trying to pot shot, never throwing combos. neither fighter landing much. boring round. even

Round four -

RM starting well, lands some right hooks, GL still in control, RM taunting, better tound for RM, RM lands a good left and right. RM's round

Marquez coming forward, keeping Lorenzo on the ropes, slipping the punches and getting his work off

Good power shots now from Marquez, body shot and right hand

Marquez takes round 4. He tries to pull an Izzy Vasquez on Lorenzo but doesn't do enough damage or land enough to hurt Lorenzo. Taunting Lorenzo on his dancing as Giovanni is circling him and trying not to engage.

Round 4 for Marquez 10-9.

 

Rd 5.
Marquez caught running in with a short right, almost a flash KD but he stays up.
Marquez chasing Lorenzo all around the ring at one point mocking him to come to the centre and fight. Marquez continues to press, Lorenzo only throwing when cornered. round to marquez

Marquez coming forward, both showboat, hands in the air

Again, Marquez outworking him. Lorenzo not getting his work off now

A few counters from Lorenzo in the later stages, but overall I prefer the effective aggression and body shots

Round five -

RM trying to get GL to fight, GL landing the crisp counters RM not being as effective but still landing some. Close round. GL waiting a lot.

Nice close fight, some awesome action here.

 

Lorenzo might be trying to wear him down, good stuff so far.

 

Lorenzo has swelling on the eye. Marquez is using that lesser known "effective aggression" to rattle Giovanni Lorenzo. He's controlling the pace (for about the first minute of the fight) and has Lorenzo looking for a place to hide.

10-9 Marquez...Fun fight so far.

 

Keep it coming lads.

 

I notice Lorenzo is looking at his corner a lot during the lulls of the fight. He looks completely unfocused right now.

As I type that, he nails some quick counter shots.

 

Round 6.

Marquez clearly the aggressor and finally starting to land some hard punches as well as Lorenzo slows, Lorenzo on the move constantly waiting to throw counters, round to Marquez.
