and lets pretend hypertheoreticly that his corner wouldnt let him out for round 10....Abe has a WAY WAY WAY better excuse for not coming out.
a helix broken jaw is excrutiatingly painful and was a danger to his own health. the amoutn of blood that was draining away is also a factor.

peter couldnt be ****ed to finish the fight...he had 4 rounds to damage vitalis ko percentage...but still didnt want to know

It's true. That's because the people in Europe are big boxing fans, flat out. I don't see the public in the US giving the Euro fighters the same respect.
It may be because in the US they are not used to seeing bad ass "white heavyweights" --wherever they are from--kicking ass in a division which has been dominated by black fighters.. .
This is going to take time getting used to..

Peter was not landing anything during the entire fight. There was no point for him in continuing and receiving a career ruining beating.
Lacy still had his honour after the Calzaghe fight, and that's great for him, but he's not been the same ever since and never will be.

AA is entitled to his opinion, especially considering he fought 7 rounds with terrible injury, but i don't really blame Peter for quitting. I do blame him for being ridiculously out of shape and showing zero desire even before he quit.

Christ, honor in boxing went out the door years ago... It's all about getting the paycheck and being set for life that matters... Everybody has a price... I saw Sonny Liston pull the same stunt against Clay / Ali down in Miami back in '64... What makes Sam Peter so goddamn special?? Liston, like Peter, took a real ass kicking.... Cheers..

    MR.BILL

    P.S.

Dishonorable? See "Bruce Seldon vs. Mike Tyson" from 1996.... That effort on the part of Seldon made me puke...:?

Once again BS Doylexxx he thought it would go to the cards due to the Miranda fouling.

If he had wanted to quit he would have, and damn if he did not have a good reason too, yet he didn't and fought on.
AA has proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that he is not a quitter nor has a quitting mentality in any way.

I respect Abraham's opinion. He fought on and won, despite suffering a broken jaw. That shows bravery and courage, a real champions heart. If you agree he wanted out of the fight who could blame him ? The fact remains he hung in and fought on bravely

when i watched the fight i thought abraham wanted to quit. the ref asked him atleast a couple of times if he wanted to continue and both times AA would mutter "no" and each time he said he dodnt wanna fight his promoter would go crazy and i think he was the one that forced AA to fight on. AA showed great heart and toughness that night!

Come on Uppercutko, do you not have any respect for a fighter who wins under those circumstances ? Forget it's Arthur Abraham for a second, you obviously don't like him. Can't you respect a fighter for doing that ?

.... And Ali told Dundee he wanted to quit against Liston and Frazier during those fights, but he got in there and did it.

Oh, and what happened in the rematch ?

We can all talk about AA wanting to quit, hoping his corner would stop the fight, hoping the referee would stop the fight etc.

    Guess what?

None of that crap happened. AA DID NOT quit and Sam Peter did.

If my aunt had balls she would be my uncle. But she does not.

    Quit with all the excuses.

    Peter quit.

    AA did not.
