That doesn't mean AA looked amateurish. The first few rounds Oral was hitting gloves and AA was doing nothing. He looked asleep but not amateurish. Oral did a few okay bodyshots, and one good hook with knocked AA back slightly but he didn't land anything hugely telling through the fight. It looked like a man against a child when AA woke up.

Man -- if Pavlik or Sturm fought this guy in a voluntary defense there would be no end to criticism through out the boxing world! Why the hell does AA deserve a free pass?

The only top guy AA can beat at 168 is Froch. The rest would embarrass Arthur badly. Arthur can beat Froch because the man is so easy to hit. Other than that I think the boxing world is going to get a big shock the first time Arthur unloads on a SMW, and can't buy a blink. I'm saying this based on the historical fact that the only top level fighter arthur has ever KOed was a damaged version of Miranda.

    You must have misunderstood me,booradley!

I hadnt been that keen on watching AA take on Oral in an voluntary title defence. There are more worthy fighters out there.Well,Oral turned out to be a good match for AA after all.It was fun to watch.
I would not critisize Pavlik for fighting someone like Mora or AA figthing someone like Oral if they were not in a race against time(AA cant make the weight anymore-Pavlik vs AA must be staged now!).Middle weight isnt loaded with countless good fighters and outstandingly promising talents.

Korobov and Golovkin are not ready for AA and Pavlik yet,Sturm is a proteced paper champ who strongly dislikes taking any risks,Slyvester and Lorenzo are no matches for AA and Pavlik,Winky fights once in a blue moon,Gevor is a supertough warrior, but an extremely predictable one,Geale,Griffin, and Zbik are very decent fighters, but nothing special at all.
Mundine seems to be out of shoes against either AA and Pavlik.French based AFrican Nikam hasnt tested any unchartered territory yet.
Pirog seems to be the only fighter who can give hell both to AA and Pavlik at present, but who really wants to fight this totally unknown Russian.High riks, very little reward!
Mora and Oral are not that bad after all,eh! Nope! I am joking! AA vs Pavlik must be made now and staged within the next few months!
The boxing world wants to watch AA vs Pavlik now!!

I agree with most of this. A while back Sauerland and Abraham said they would be fine with a January date. I think Arthur still has to fight Lorenzo, and Top Rank is working on Pavlik/Sturm. I've about given up hope, but there is still a chance we could see a Pav-AA double header in the fall, followed by Pav/AA in the winter. I still think that is the ideal scenario.

I dont really care much for AA vs Lorenzo, but would love to watch Pavlik dismantle Sturm.

Well,my guess is that Pavlik vs STurm wont come off anyway as Sturm will lose his upcomming fight with the Armenian.

Abraham acted like he knew he could've taken out Oral whenever he wanted to. If Abraham really wanted to I think he could've stopped Oral within 3-4, 6 tops. Someone who fights all 12 rounds and has the ability to rival or better Abraham will beat Abraham. Abraham should not go near Hopkins or Chad Dawson.

Boo, you know that I criticized Arthur for the way he fought against Simon and said that he would've no chance at all against Pavlik in the shape he showed up.

Against Oral it was the old Abraham, in shape, and this version would've a good chance against many / probably all other fighters in MW and SMW. And it's true, he lost the 4 rounds against Oral, but AA is a slow starter (and you know that). You simply can't conclude that AA would loose against Pavlik, because he lost 4 rounds to Oral - and you know that as well. You like to provocate and that's fine, but don't make yourself look foolish. ;)

However, AA is moving up to SMW now and I would love to see him against Froch and even against Kessler who has all the skills to outbox Arthur (but this doesn't mean that AA is chanceless). It would be nice to see Arthur fight a top guy.

Regarding Oral: he had an iron will, but it was good that the fight has been stopped by his corner to prevent serious damage.

What is the purpose of this post from you Odo?:huh:patsch
You say nothing that I didn't know already because I saw all those fights except vs Gainer.

All these guys were limited and they were able to easily win rounds with some BASIC technical skills, EVEN IN ROUNDS WHEN AA WASN'T TAKING THE ROUND OFF. Simply by side stepping, pivoting, stepping back, and countering.
I suggest you watch the Oral fight again to see how he hit AA and made AA miss and making uncomfortable moves:yep

He made him look amateurish at times when both threw shots (after the first 3 rounds as well).

How about all the shots that AA missed when Oral stepped back? Or how about AA came in with wide shots and Oral countered? AA is a very smart, yet crude puncher.

Oral made AA do some strange amateurish moves. Watch the fight again and you'll probably see what I mean.
