Aaron Pryor....Are you a fan of him or not?

Exciting to watch. I like him for the way he treated Arguello and how he gave him the chance in the greatest fight ever. But the cheating is a black mark for me

 

Pryor was a great crowd pleaser....... Its hard not to like him.......... BUT! His skills are vastly overrated......... Pryor's technique was very basic / simplistic....... However, his youthful stamina was insane........ He is listed as an ATG, but there are others who were better at 140 pounds.......

I am a fan but he is overrated by some people's estimation. His career was not long enough to be ATG.

 

Certainly J.C.Chavez and Perny Whitaker fo show......... Perhaps even a peaked Kostya Tszyu.........??

A. Pryor was very aggressive, but also very sloppy and easy to counter.....

PLUS! Pryor's "Biltmore" rep is based on his two KO wins over a puffed-up Arguello, who was also older in age......

Pryor looked terrible against Gary Hinton and Bob Joe Young........ Yes, very late in his career....... I know..... Still??

He was an exciting fighter and his fights with Arguello were some of the first boxing fights I have ever watched fully when I was trying to get into boxing. Too bad his career didn't suit longetivity but with his style it probably wouldn't have anyways. He deserves his place in the HOF.

 

All action, all business, very tough. Pryor is extremely underrated.
