Remember, the pinnacle of Mayweathers Prowess is his lead right hand. He can't even fight out of that position after he gets there.
I think Aaron Pryor was one of those guys that was super close to top 5 all time great, but needed a FEW little things.
If I'm not mistaken I remember Floyd saying Aaron Pryor was in his top 3 favorite fighters list. I believe it was in this order 1. Ricardo Lopez 2. Aaron Pryor 3. Larry Holmes
Mayweather could get overwhelmed by pressure at times despite his remarkable defense, there's a good chance Pryor wins here.
Hard to pick. I can see Floyd lighting him all night with a few shaky moments as much as I see Pryor overwhelming him.
Okay, first we've got to figure out how to get Floyd in the ring with a prime Pryor. Next, Mayweather will have some good flashy counterpunches but he'll be like a man fighting off an avalanche by the 5th round. Can't see Floyd hurting him so he'll have to outland Aaron, yeah good luck with that. Arguello hit the Hawk with everything but the kitchen sink and the man kept coming, with no fear of what Floyd is throwing Pryor will attack, attack, attack, and rounds 12-15 will be a serious problem for Mayweather to survive.
How is Aaron even going to force Mayweather into a situation where “out-landing” him is even an option? - the only reason an overweight, shot Arguello landed so much on Aaron is because he obliged Pryor - him doing so well at that stage in his career says a lot of Aaron.
Pryor was relentless in the ring, he'd set the pace and Floyd would be overwhelmed. Arguello shot? First time I've heard that about his fight with Pryor in 40 years . Maybe you should watch that fight again.
