pryor by decison, pryor took some vicious punches to the body and the head from arquello, so i think he could handle chavez power, think he would win a close decison like 9/6

Im thinkin' Pryor here , Chavez was underrated as a boxer imo, and was a bit more patient at this weight, his right hand is really really precise, and he may knock Pryoe down. I dont rate Chavez though as a very explosive puncher, more immensely strong than powerful he was. But Pryor is just gunna keep pounding away imo, workrate is brilliant, and he might just be able to swarm over his opponent here with effect.

    Pryor wins this imo

I'll probably take Pryor in this one, he'd offset Julio's game with his speed and relentlessness, likely outpointing and outworking him as Taylor did, though the body shots from Chavez could eventually take their toll.

Chavez via decision I think Julio is one of the few fighters who could slow Pryor down with his constant body attack and win the last few rounds big swinging it in his favour. Pryor was a quality fighter but he never met a fight of a prime Chavez level his best wins are against a shot Cerventes and an old Arguello.

in my opinion, i take chavez in this one, chavez is no arguello, his power was truly amazing.

:huh Arguello was more reknowned for his power than Chavez.

And aren't you the guy who rated Pryor as a top 10 ATG a while back? Now you seem to be less than impressed with him based on this thread and the Duran one.

Pryor by razor-thin decision. Both fighters would absorb much punishment throughout, though. Neither of them may not be the same afterward.

Chavez is out of league and would be badly outclassed, and possibly hurt badly

Damn, what does that then say about Camacho that he got beaten around the ring like a two cent crackwhore by this slow, plodding, supposedly mediocre fighter in Chavez?

Hector was already losing. To Haugen! Put the two of them together in a ring five or six years earlier and Hector eats him alive with his speed and movement. Why can't you understand the simplest of concepts Sweet Pea. You say you know so much about the decade of the 80's but being there myself I sincerely doubt that.

If Camacho was such a great fighter, why did he pass his prime so much earlier than Chavez, despite the fact that Chavez had been in many more wars and taken many more lumps and beatings over his career? It took Camacho one punch to the jaw to change his style and attitude, and according to fans like you, that was the end of his prime. How, honestly, do you consider a fighter of that magnitude to be so great?

And if Rosario is catching him in his prime at mid-range, you think a constant pressure fighter with a big punch won't find his chin at some point? Get real.

Seriously, Chavez is a fine fighter. Put him in with the likes of Tony Lopez, Greg haugen, David Kamau or Terence Alli and he looks like a mugger in the ring. Put him in with the elite and he's reduced to ordinary or gets beat. You criticize Camacho for taking on Limon as titleholder well what does that say about Chavez - Limon five years later?

You criticize Chavez for not being able to hang with the elite well what does that say about Camacho when he goes life and death(and arguably loses) with Edwin Rosario, getting hurt and being forced to run for a good portion of the fight? What does that say, considering Chavez beat and stopped Rosario in a dominating, one-sided affair in his prime?
