I'd take him over Benitez, close but clear. Duran takes him out late. Whitaker beats him to a close decision. Don't bring in a stone age guy like Armstrong, he doesn't last but a round or two.
Definitley, I agree with this. He KO's Tszyu, Locche and perhaps even stops Chavez late and I've already posted my thoughts on mayweather.
Yes he did, 3rd round, lands a big straight left and Floyd gets driven back to the ropes stunned but shakes it off in about 5-7 seconds. Judah had the oppurtunity there to follow up and really hurt or drop him, but Floyd's defence prevented this.
I sure did and I was rooting for Judah, but he never stunned Floyd. Floyd was coming in off balance and got caught and stumbled backwards while off balance. If he was stunned he wouldn't have been able to keep himself from falling down using his glove like he did.
I'll have to watch it again. I remember Floyd covering up, but I don't think he was stunned. Corley definately stunned him. He drove Floyd to the ropes with a flush hook, and hit him again with a straight right that Floyd couldn't block.
He was certainly stunned, but much in the same way as the Corley fight, he never really seemed in danger. Not touching the canvas barring a glove in one fight (realistically 2 fights) in an entire career (38 fights, 6 world titles, 5 weight divisions) that has included some good punchers (Corrales at 130, Castillo and even N'dou at 135, and Dela Hoya at 154 carries power to a natural 130 pounder) proves a damn solid chin. One punch ain't stoppin' Floyd, unless it's a "Jackson-like punch". You'll have to absolutely beat him down to stop him, and with his skills and defence, that's gonna be damn hard. If Pryor were to take this one, he'd do it by decision (out-working Floyd).
Speaking of Armstong..did you know that two filipino fighters went to a draw with him..Ceferino Garcia and Kid Moro who drew him 3 times. Great fighter from the islands back then..were having a ressurgence now
It's been a while since I've seen an Armstrong fight on ESPN Classic, but didn't most people disagree with the draw against Garcia?
Im not sure just got this from a trivia..He did lose to Hank though...he was one of those mysterious guys...Dempsey supposedly trained him for some fights.. Beat lots of guys KO of Ross to win the crown, Apostoli..Glen lee ...Disappeared for a while
