This is a fight that I'm unable to find a conclusion on...I know the scenarios where both fighter's would gain a victory...But which scenario would unfold?
Would Pryor's speed, power and aggressive attack offset Chavez? Will Pryor be able to gain a victory against Julio, (like he did with Arguello)by overwhelming him? That was a simply amazing performance by Pryor...
Or would Chavez be able to apply his trade mark body attack, during the storm, to slow Pryor down?
15 rounds at junior welterweight. Who and why?

I'll take Pryor by Decision, everyone else will take Chavez, claiming Pryor is overrated.

Agreed. I think Pryor's free flowing busy style would present problems for Chavez. Building up momentum and rhythm would be a headache for Chavez.

Agreed, this would be similar(in the sense of punch output) to Taylor/Chavez, with Pryor taking less damage, or at least responding to it better.

I think Pryor aswell , just because i have him as number 1 at 140 of alltime . I know that shouldnt affect a h2h meeting , but thats my reasoning for it

Does Pryor get the one Panama mixed?

    If not I'll take Julio.

Pryor wins by decision, too much speed and power.

In their 135lbs primes, I take Chavez to win a tough war by close but Unanimous decision: 9-6.

Pryor kept much of his form for a couple of years at 140; whilst Mayweather showed in 89, that Chavez was never quite the fighter at 140 that he was at 130 and 135; thus I take Pryor to win at 140, by a similar score that he would lose to Chavez at 135 by.

In their 135 lbs primes? Pryor only fought at 140, which was his prime.

Chavez' body attack prevails via decision or late stoppage.

this is a extremely hard match up but one variable that i believe would have a large effect of this fight would be chavez's physical strength. chavez is bigger and stronger then arguello imo, i think even to say he was signifigantly stronger. arguello's punch and jab was much more powerfull, but as far as physical strength, there could be many unknown conlcusions to the deep waters that he would take pryor.

as far as being in a boxing circle's forum, i wouldent say that pryor is the underdog because we all know of pryors wins over cervantes, arguello and hearns in the amatures.

but if you fought chavez, you would get to know him "real' well for 15 rounds, he would be in your face, bullying you for every second and that plan of action could break down diffrent types of fighter that even arguello could not stop (and vice versa of course).

i think pryor would be winning the fight from the start but rounds 9-15 is where things will get really interesting and there have been iron chinned fighters that have been stopped in the deep waters of a fight.

pryos conditioning is incredable and he could be throwing thousands of punches for days, but with chavez pushing you into a corner and pounding your ribs untill they bruised and then pounding you bruised ribs untill they crack. it may be too much for pryor... it may even be to much for duran if he dident have good out side boxing and sneaky counters to keep chavez from getting a rythm.

from what i know of both fighters, i think chavez has a chance at stopping pryor in a 15 round fight

i think another great match up would be pryor vs meldrick taylor who was very similar to "the hawk" and destined for greatness before the chavez fight.

I will take Chavez. Pryor had everything to force the action at an intense pace. I just don't see his power rocking a prime Chavez. Chavez body shots slow Pryor down and I would go with a close decision to a late KO...Coming at Chavez just seems the wrong strategy for anyone..and I don't know if Pryor could do anything but! I would not be surprised to see Pryor win a close decision in this one as well. 2 of my favs...but I would rather have seen the Hawk stomp SRL!

I'll go with Chavez I see him slowing Pryor down with body shots and taking the end rounds which swing the fight his way. Chavez via decision.
