I think Pryor's high activity, swarming style is all wrong for Tszyu who likes to control the tempo and pace. Pryor might suffer an early KD (probably from a straight right hand) but he'll recover and then beat Tszyu. I'd pick him by late stoppage in a good fight.
Tszyu was stopped twice by pressure fighters and Pryor was one of the best pressure fighters in any weight class of all time. Hard to see the hawk not stopping Tszyu late.
Tsyzu was good but beating Zab who had a weak chin was a good win, but doesn't show that he was in the level of Pryor. Aaron beat a legend in Arguello who was still good. Tsyzu would have had a hard time beating Alexis, and taking that right hand would have been tough for Tsyzu. Different levels, although Pryor was probably great, he is a bit overrated to what his resume shows. His career really was not long or full.
Zab? Tszyu beat a lot of good fighters. Much more than Aaron Pryor. Arguello was never a proven 140 pounder. He never fought a TOP10 JWW except for Pryor. And Pryor is considered great because he beat Arguello by cheating?
I just realized that I started the thread, and didn't even pick a winner originally. That being said, I gotta go with Pryor by TKO. Don't see anyone at 140 aside from Chavez who could possibly beat Pryor.
I love Tszyu as my location states but this is exactly the same way I see it. TS, I agree with you alot lol.
Whitaker, Benitez, Pacquiao, and Mayweather would all be, at the very least, live underdogs against Pryor. I'd probably actually pick Pea & Manny over Pryor @ 140. I wasn't overly impressed with some of Pryor's performances against southpaws. I'd also pick Duran (he had some over the lightweight limit bouts) over Pryor too.
The cheating Pryor that stopped Arguello, stops Tszyu inside 10 rounds....... ......Pryor without the medicinal breathing concoction and without the plaster in his wraps, gets brutalized by the Aussie!
