    Aaron Pryor vs Pipino Cuevas.
That would have been a wild fight.

In one of Pryor's JWW fights, Pryor got tagged,
and did a backwards somersault, jumped back up,
and waded right back into the fray.

What a fascinating match. The Cuevas left hook is among the hardest punches in history, let alone at Welter.

The Hawk was really only a light weight, so would be outweighed on the night by at least 10 pounds. I imagine he'd turn boxer, as in the middle rounds of the first Arguello fight, and do a number on Cuevas.

I will hazzard a total guess and agree with the above poster that Pryor could have gone into boxing mode...and outpoint the Mexican bomber. He had the talent to try it...and to pull it off. Randy Shields came up from junior welter, and went the distance with Cuevas...and Pryor is a different animal altogether.
    Pryor decision.

As much as I like Aaron Pryor, can't see him winning this one. The minute Pipino tags him, it's a wrap.

Would have been a great fight for sure. A pre-Hearns Quevas would have been too strong and hard punching for Pryor I think. If Pipino didn't out and out KO him, I think his fists of granite would have eventually busted Aaron's face up too bad for him to continue.

    Pryor turn boxer?

His best chance is to swarm Cuevas and catch him early.

I can't think of very many fighters who could come at Cuevas with the aggression Pryor showed and not be put down in short order. Pressure like just wasn't the way to beat Cuevas especially if you were the smaller fighter.

Pryor would be knocked out if he did. He would have to fight an extremely cautious fight. I'm leaning toward favoring Cuevas in this one. Pryor is the more complete fighter, but Cuevas is the bigger man and broke bones with his punches.
