Aaron Pryor is one of those guys that probably had ATG fighting spirit and skills but never realized potential. In head to head match up who wins and why?

wow this is a great matchup back and forth but duran at 140 probably would have been just as good as he was at 135, id say it would be a close fight for awhile but duran was just the greater fighter so Duran by late stoppage, and thats even if pryor had his black bottle cuz he wouldnt have been able to worn duran down duran tko 12 or 13.

Duran's defense and bodywork make a big difference here. The Hawk was simply too wide open to have much of a chance here.

A war for the ages but one that Duran`s superior skills & defence earn him a decision, 12 or 15 rds.

Even the Duran who was a bloated 155 in 1982 against Kirkland Laing would've chased Aaron Pryor outta the ring....... Pryor was on fire in '82 at 140 pounds against Arguello, but while Duran did drop a decision to Laing on points in 1982, Duran was still the aggressor and had his power intact......

Kirkland Laing was not powerful nor a top-5 welterweight in 1982, but he was a real top-12 147 pounder with speed and finess............ I do not think that a 1982 version of Aaron Pryor at 140 pounds could've beaten the Laing of Sept. 1982 who showed up at 149 pounds to box the ears off Duran on ESPN........ Kirkland Laing went on in England to prove he was a decent fighter and contender in the early to mid-80s, while Pryor became a Cokehead...........

Still, again, Duran was too slow for Laing, but he still applied pressure and threw hard rights to the body of Laing........ Pryor had very basic boxing skills...... Laing's lateral movement and precision punching was superior to that of Pryor...... The Duran who chased Laing for 10 rds would've caught up with Pryor and hammered his ass...... Duran beats Pryor.......

This may well have been the greatest fight of all-time. Up there with the very best in history anyway. It has the ingredients.

    Duran UD.

What a war. Maybe even tops Hagler-Hearns, because it lasts longer. But defense would be the tiebreaker here. Thus, Duran by UD or possibly late KO.

This has been done 124343 times here...

but i favor Duran, Pryor was always open, threw his punches too wide, and he always came forward, perfect for Duran.

    Duran UD12.
