This fight was set to go in early 83 after Pryor beat Arguello but Leonard retired, how would it have gone at 147,Would Pryors relentless and unorthodox style have bothered a prime Leonard?

First thing that comes to mind is Leonard late KO, strangely.

...he's unstoppable. Aaron Pryor was good enough to take leonard's punches, but leonard wouldn't be able to take pryors.

Pryor would have out punched leonard and KO'd him in a 15 round fight.

There are two flaw's with that argument:

Leonard has zero chin issues infact at 147 he had a fantastic chin, he took alot shots from one of the hardest punchers ever for 14 rounds, a guy who hit him with more frequency and more power than Pryor ever could.

Leonard also had great stamina, as shown by coming back to stop Hearns in the 14th after a beating.

I do not see how a fighter great proven chin and great proven stamina gets stopped from a smaller, weaker, slower fighter.

Leonards fight with hearns was great, but pryor throws far more punches then hearns, and he throws them from awquard angles, I would rate hearn's power slightly above pryor' but pryor would connect more often.

Hearns had given leonard his best punch, and leonard took it, i think that after the 12th round hearns knew that he couldn't KO leonard.

Proyor had just as good a chin and stamina as leonard, Pryor would have been bigger, with more power at 147, and he wouldn't have lost any of that speed. Leonard got hearns to take a backward step, that just wouldn't happen against pryor.

    Mate that is just ridiculous.

Pryors power slightly below Hearn's? Pryor never had true one punch power at 140, Hearns was a true power puncher at 147.

Hearns connected plenty, have you not seen the fight?

Why would Pryor not taking a backwards step make any difference, Leonard would beat him up close due to the fact he had a better skillset and he would beat him at a distance due to his handspeed and accuracy advantages, amongst other things.

Pryor would have been smaller than Leonard, and was 5' 6/7" so who is to say he would take his speed and stamina up, he does not exactly have a large frame to do it does he?

Leonard, at 147 he had a chin, speed and stamina that were just other worldly in comparison to most, this includes pryor

Look at the press confrences between them though it really looked like leonard really didnt want to fight him,and leonard always talks about how dangerous pryor was in retrospect personally I think leonard in a close fought classic fight 8-7 ud

Proyr had the power to KO people at 140, at 147 that would increase, i take your point that hearns had the ability to KO people with 1 punch but Pryor KO'd fighters with combos.

seen the fight planty of times, i've got it on video, just look at hearn's face after round 13 (sos got 12 and 13 mixed up), it looks like someone who believes that he can't win the fight.

Pryor would fight on the inside, continuously landing on leonard, he has the power, speed and stamina to KO leonard. there is no fighter like pryor, he is a freak, pryors relentless attack would be too much for leonard to handle.
