The hawk wanted this fight badly but Leonard didn't.

In one of the documentaries on youtube, it was said that back in ameteurs for the Olympic trial, Sugar went upper in weight class just to avoid Pryor

I don't think the argument about Pryor out working Leonard is far fetched. He certainly had the work rate to defeat Leonard, he certainly had a great chin to take Leonards sometimes under-rated power.

Lets not forget, a very skilled lb for lb small great who had a similar, but more refined style beat the crap out of Leonard in their first match. It's not unthinkable, top it off, Leonard cowered to Pryor.

Determined Pryor, vs cowering Leonard? Seems like a recipe for an upset. Thats exactly what it would be if Pryor would have won, a huge upset. He would need the judges to call the fight like it really was. Taking Leonard the distance and beating his ass usually meant an official U.D. for Leonard or draw. But we all know that Hearns won the rematch.

Duran's style was nothing like Pryor's. Duran was a level above Pryor skill-wise and fit the WW limit much better. Duran didn't "beat the crap out of" Leonard, he won by a single point on my cards and was very close on the judges cards.

Leonard never cowered to Pryor, you're basing that off a clip you've seen of Pryor calling Leonard out at a press conference. Pryor was not taken seriously at the time by anyone, Leonard included, being as he hadn't accomplished much and was a natural LW. He was the underdog against Arguello in their subsequent match(which tells you how highly he was thought of at the time), and hadn't even proven himself an elite fighter at that stage. To top it off, I doubt Leonard would skip over much bigger paydays and higher class WW's like Hearns, Benitez, Duran, etc to face an unproven natural LW.

Well it's obvious you have your own anti-Leonard agenda going on here, which is obvious by your complete disregard of all facts and logic.

i agree. pryor would drive leonard crazy. if he thought Duran was tough you can imagine how aaron would frustrate leonard to no end and drill him full of holes. A badly wobbed leonard lose his edge on points in the late rounds and drops a decision and then retires.

LEONARD BY TKO 10-13 RDS PRYOR

I understand styles make fights but still, if Pryor went life & death with a faded Arguello 2 weights above his own best weight & in his 4th weight class overall then what would the bigger, better Leonard do to him ?

Once Pryor felt SRLs power he would be less willing to relentlessly come forward & once that happens, SRL just outboxes him, even hurting him badly with straight rights & left hooks whenever Pryor leaves himself too wide open (which is usually frequent)
I see Aaron being all done by 9 or 10 but his refusal to quit enables him to survive 3 or 4 more rds with the ever patient SRL biding his time, as soon as Pryor tastes canvas once, Leonard aint letting him off the hook & lets rip with a flurry & the ref waves it off.

Ps. Im suprised so many people voted for Pryor, but to each their own I guess.

he is to SRL what jack presscot is to hoya:lol:.

SRL in a competitive fight imo, with SRL's speed and movement proving decisive. pryor did'nt have the style to nail leonard down, and tag him clean. as opposed to hearns who had the boxing ability to neutralize leonards speed, and match him in hand speed. not to mention pryor's overpowering opponents was part of pryors game. wont happen against a full bodied welter.

No i was surprised that Leonard made it that far in his prediction, I was expecting him to say Pryor KO6 after a domination.

I don't particularly like Leonard, but I gotta think that he takes this one by outboxing Pryor on the outside, using his longer reach, and wearing Pryor down.

    Leonard UD.

Power doesn't sometimes decrease for some boxers as they move up in weight.
Pryor could also box when he wanted too and I've seen brief clips of Pryor sparring with Howard Davis and Pryor was BOXING Davis.
Leonard wanted nothing to do with Pryor-as a matter of fact Pryor basically BEGGED Leonard to fight him but Leonard didn't.
I would pick Pryor to decision Leonard.
