What you are saying is true but that 17 year old beat a very cagey veteran to win a title, that veteran was way past his prime when Pryor beat him, Cervantes even decked Aaron. Aaron would have to be the aggressor in this one. Benitez has faced many aggressors, they fell prey to him. But I do respect your point of view as always.

Cervantes dropped him but as usual Pryor bounced up almost before he'd hit the floor and would have preferred it if the ref got out of the way and waived the count. Pryor was dropped by quite a few guys but he was never hurt and invariably came back to stop them.

Tho older Pryor had actually had one less fight than El Radar when the faced Antonio. Pryor improved as a Junior Welterweight after he fought Cervantes and was peaking by the Arguello rematch some 2 years later. Benitez had 3 more fights at the weight and moved on up.

I'm open to your interpretation Rich, absolutely. For once i am actually backing Pryor tho. Tho he beat Cervantes i am not sure he had the firepower and big fight experience at 140 to beat Pryor. I could be wrong of course.
