I haven't heard much about Pryor outside the ring, never knew he'd been shot by his wife/gf either In terms of those fights, Pryor should/could have fought them but I don't think they are ducks, more not having a clue about the business and trying to get a fair deal. Personally I'm not a massive Pryor fan and I certainly don't think hes up there with HEarns/Leonard in terms of ability. But I think to myself 'Pryor might beat Armstrong in a war' or 'Arguello may beat Armstrong', yet Armstrong is ranked number 1 on many peoples lists way above these 2. Obviously resume wise Armstrong is leagues ahead and he is more efficient buy Pryor does some things better I'll say it RESUME IS OVERRATED And thats why I now avoid lists now
Pryor said after the Blackmoore fight that he'd fight Leonard for a mil, rather than the $500k he was offered. Given that he made over a mil to fight Arguello, a more winnable fight, I'd say it was a good move, but it does mess up the "Leonard and everyone feared Pryor" claim. It just depends on what side you look at. Leonard low-balling Pryor, or giving him a chance to make a career high. He had gotten like $50k for Cervantes, this was ten times that.
I find it funny that you view your "opinion" as the pinnacle of objectivity and consistency. Where am I inconsistent? I very CLEARLY explained the criteria I used and how each ones rankings fit into that criteria. Just becaue my criteria may differ from yours does not creat an inconsistency at all. Just a a differnt opinion from you. Also how am I not objective? Why would I not be? Point to one post where I might have deviated from logical to emotional. When I said Pryor was top 50 and maybe closer to 30, I specifically said I did not have my ranking with me at the time. I then clearly stated that I retrieved my rankings and posted them instead of going off of memory. I am sorry I don't have my top 100 fighter memorized. I have loosely ranked every champion in the sport, and concisely ranked the top 100. In that pool of fighter the difference between 40 and 72 is 3%. That is undisputable. You may not understand the math used, but 30 spots in 1000 fighters ranked (roughly) is 3%. As for you last paragraph one could easily flip it and respond to you. To put is simply, you underrate Pryor. He achieved plenaty to have only 39 fighters ranked ahead of him alltime. If you were consistent and objective in your rankings you would have Benitez around 30 spots behind Pryor in your rankings. There is no argument in that paragraph, no attempt to alter opinion with any persuasive argument, just a plain you don't agree. Which is cool, but don't try to write it off as if you are some sort of authority over everyone else. Keith
