Hes arguably the greatest light-welterweight of all time besides chavez. Who would rank higher than him at light-welterweight?

Mike Tyson beat a slightly higher level of competition in my estimation, whilst he also enjoyed a comeback and regained the title, whereas Pryor faded into obscurity after the drug problems got a hold of him. Based on a slightly deeper resume, the manner in which he won most of his title fights, and his ability to comeback from defeat, I rank Mike Tyson as a greater fighter than Aaron Pryor.

Side note, Alexis Arguello looked horrible against Costello, and was probably behind on the scorecards prior to shooting that right hand cross.

Two far greater fighters than Aaron Pryor, and they've proved it over a long period of time, against some of the showier names of the last decade.

Michael Spinks was also having knee problems and wearing a brace as early as 1980.

Nearly as overrated as Duran. Got knocked down many, many times and his signature win is against a past his best Arguello, and he had to cheat to make it happen.

I agree on your assessment of Aaron Pryor, but where do you rank Roberto Duran? Just curious.

Nobody necessarily, but I don't think being the best at a certain weight necessarily equates to ATG status, especially not in this case. On the grand scale, regardless of weight division, I think Aaron Pryor's achievements or resume isn't comparable to those you'd typically see in a top 80 list.

Aaron Pryor has never been defeated in a fantasy fight at 140 lbs. This alone makes him an ATG

You mean boxers like Eder Jofre, Carlos Zarate, Ricardo Lopez etc.?

I don't consider Lopez on that level, whereas Jofre and Zarate certainly achieved more than Pryor did.

8 title defenses in the space of 2 years, all of which came by stoppage? You have watched his fight with Lupe Pintor? The majority of people I've spoken to thought he deserved the nod in that fight, which would have certainly improved an already competent resume, with underrated names like, Danilo Batista, Alfonso Zamora, Alberto Davila, etc. He dominated his weight division far more impressively than Pryor dominated 140lbs, who wasn't a stranger to the canvas.

On second thought, Carlos Zarate, Ricardo Lopez, and Aaron Pryor aren't all that far apart, whereas Jofre is a different level of fighter, I think.
