How high do you rank the Hawk's beard?

Went down a lot, but as noted had as much to do with balance as with his chin.

Imo one of the most overrated fighters of all time. No doubt an excellent fighter but one who has been moved up into unbeatable immortal status.

His chin was about a 7.

Interesting take, and one not completely without merit. His two big wins are over an aged (but still respectable) Cervantes and Arguello who was a long way up in the weights. I think the win over Alexis is a very good one but it is also tainted and Arguello was not the force he'd been at 130. The rest of the resume is quite plain.

It would have been nice to see him tested a bit more, both thru better opposition at 140 and maybe a foray into 147. Unfortunately drugs took over and the fat lady sang.

That's not to say he couldn't have reached some serious heights, it just would have been nice to see them.

I'd rate his chin a bit higher, i think Arguello proved he still carried a fair bit of power at 140.

I actually watched Pryor - Young this morning, pretty wild turnout that one.

High on life, high... but top chin. Alexis hit him with everything but the kitchen sink and he just kept coming on both bouts and the explosive thin man could whack.
HOFer. A star that faded just before he could shine even brighter.

Arguello was still a very dynamic puncher at 140. Pryor walked right thru him. Like others have said Pryor s biggest problem was balance and that mainly was due to over aggressiveness. He didn't touch the canvas once ,with 24 rds against Arguello. If he hada suspect chin. Arguello would've exposed it.

He gets overrated in no small part due to the myths about all these fighters ducking him, when in actuality he was offered career high paydays to fight Leonard & Duran (who were in different divisions to begin with).

He was an excellent fighter though during his peak. I rate his chin an 8.

It was a very good chin, but aside from the stuff he took from Arguello, he seemed genuinely hurt a number of times against Johnson. Pretty overrated overall though.

Aaron was a terrific talent .. look at how he cut through Cervantes .. no one did that to Cervantes before. Aaron had speed, exceptional power and stamina. Arguello iced Kevin Rooney with one shot prior to fighting Aaron at 140 .. In addition, Aaron was really a blown up lightweight .. he only fought at 140 because he got the title shot .. no one would fight him at 135. Aaron was wild in and out of the right .. he got hit and dropped a few times but all were kind of flash knockdowns .. I say his chin was very solid ..
