Though the consensus is that Simon is just another tomato can I've voted for this being a good fight. Simon seems to be a bit (maybe not a bit) bigger and maybe even stronger than Abraham. And I remeber he was struggling against Elvin Ayala who is an extremely big middleweight as well. We shall see though...
Ayala is just a tad taller than AA and wasn't really showing that he's stronger than AA. In fact, Abraham was leading 107-101 on my scorecard before he KO'd Ayala. Simon, in fact is as tall as Bernard Hopkins and posesses a good workrate...could be interesting if Simon knows how to protect his chin and body - if not, I would call it an early night, about round 5...
I know He's ment to incress the other number on Abraham's record. (Not only the W, but The other stat, It start's with a K & end's with O)
Simon's last opponent was Jose Spearman. Why is that relevant? Because after Bronco McKart was off for nearly 2 years, and could no longer make 154, he decided to make a come back at 160. Spearman was Bronco's pre-tune-up fight. McKart boxed Spearman's ears off.
We know that he's brought in to make Arthur look good. And he will, Arthur will **** him up.. royally.. Then I want to see Arthur go to the states again, and fight someone like Pavlik or even go to England and spark Carl Froch for a 168lbs title.. he could fight Jermain Taylor if Taylor wins against Froch.
Damn bro, you hate Arthur Jermain Taylor is my favorite fighter, so I would root for him. Did Arthur do something to you? :think
Ever since Abraham knocked out Miranda there has been nothing but a steady stream of hype on ESB. Rather than by into the hype, I actually took the time to watch several of his fights. I'm not impressed. The guy is a hype job. The product of careful match making, and promotional gymnastics. If Arthur is so dangerous, and so widely avoided, why did Sauerland stab Zuniga in tha back AFTER he vacated his IBO SMW title, and why did Sauerland lowball Winky?
Abraham is doing an Ali, Klitschko...training under water but is pushing it to the limits by wearing boxing gear... http://www.bild.de/BILD/video/clip/sport/boxen/2009/03/12/abraham-pool,templateId=renderBuehne.html
Actually I'm probably looking forward to Pavlik/Abraham more than most. I used to have a fairly high opinion of Arthur, but then I watched 5 of his fights over a period of a couple days. My opinion of him changed dramatically. I'm sick if the AA hype. He is not a world class fighter, and as soon as he steps in the ring with someone who is, he is going to get his ass handed to him.
This is the thing that is so ****ing funny to me...European fans come in here and ***** and moan about top American fighters being scared to fight European fighters, the they go out and fight guys like this all the time...So the word is Pavlik is scared to fight AA despite having totally distoryed the best fighter on AA resume...Pavlik has fought Taylor, Hopkins, AA has fought Marquez, Miranda...Yeah I see how one comes to see Pavlik as the one being scaredatsch
