ABCs to discuss creation of 'super heavyweight' division

These ABC organizations will never stop till they ruin the sport completley its utter disgraceful that these corrupt money grabbing scumbags are more or less bringing the sport to its knees surely the creation of a superheavyweight division would be the last straw for them as quite a few of the top fighters now i think are seeing through them and the sanction fees.

 

I thought this was be the reason for the increase in the Cruiserweight division to 200lbs. The small heavyweights like Hide, Haye etc could fit in in that divison. Creating a new divison would probably mean that the Klitschko's could dominate both.

People are generally getting bigger and taller. Would it not be better to increase every weight class by a certain %. So that featherweight would be like 128lbs, welterweight 150lbs, Super middleweight 174lbs, Cruiserweight 215lbs. Just an idea.

What we don't need is like 30 weight divisons and multiple champions.

 

If they HAVE to alter something I hope its not the current divisions. Theres a massive heritage and tradition there and being able to compare Ray Robinson to Jose Napoles to Ray Leonard to Don Curry because they all fought at 147lbs isn't something I'd like to give up for future generations.

 

Speaking of alphabets, the IBO really think they have arrived..... not ranking the other org's champs anymore!

If this happens then boxing is officially doomed. I don't get how these greedy *******s brains work. Go on any boxing forum and poll the fans and overwhelmingly they will vote that the number of weight classes should be reduced.

They just want to create more belts and earn money.

We desperately need a governing body and one belt. An org that cares for the sport not their bank balance.

Why would we need a super heavyweight division when Chagaev and Haye beat Valuev. Byrd was tough enough to get the win over Vitali. Brewster, Purrity and Sanders are between 6'2 and 6'4 and put Wlad away. Lewis lost to two 6'2 men.

The fact is medium sized heavies are beating super heavies... and it is not about weight because all those guys are fat and overmuscled.

Haye was 217 when he beat Valuev. This is all just BS which will kill our sport.

 

This is a terrible idea.

People getting bigger just means they should be in a different weight class.

Truth is when guys are cruisers and upwards, they can all crack. Ali got put to bed by 185 pounders and his chin was tested by the best hitters ever.

 

This is utter shite and is definately a bad move. They already kind of did it by creating the cruiserweight division for those not quite big enough to compete. The problem is that too many "heavyweights" use it as an excuse to eat fried chicken and cup cakes as their preparation for a fight. If they need to **** about with the marquee division then just impose a max weight limit of say 245lbs. Anyone above this weight shouldn't be in a ring anyway (including Valuev).

What does it matter? If (for example) a 220lbs David Haye was offered the right deal to fight a 250lbs Vitali; do really think that there is a Super Heavyweight division, for fighters over 240lbs, that, that will stop the fight happening? Of course not!

The Evidence is that as long as weigh 210lbs+, it does not matter how much heavier your opponent is, it is a fair fight.
