I'm expecting a very similar fate to befall Buatsi when he fights Vlasov: this is a huge step up from having things mostly his own way against the likes of Bolotniks and Calic. Eddie has hyped Buatsi's power, but I honestly don't see him hitting hard enough and landing enough to deter Vlasov, who has never been stopped. In addition to this, Buatsi seems like a fast twitch kind of fighter, so I'm guessing he doesn't have the gas tank to go the full 12 rounds -- especially with Vlasov putting him under intense pressure and causing Buatsi to burn a lot of nervous energy.

I'm not saying he isn't good, I'm saying he wasn't as good as some believed..

And we go back to Hearn, I just watched his Matchroom TV interview (it's been up 20 minutes)

And Hearn AFTER THAT, AFTER THAT, is saying he was sitting there after a couple of rounds thinking nobody beats Galahad at the weight.. that is what he was thinking.

Now, sure Galahad was winning the fight up until the first knockdown but it wasn't anything that special, and again it was against an old fighter who had seen better days.

And on those 3 rounds Hearn is saying he was believing he beats Navarette.. just GTFO, this is why I despise Hearn and Matchroom so much, they just can't be honest about anything.

No I did mentioned Galahad got careless and got sparked. I also congratulated Kiko Martinez on his comeback win.

Level? The level of Navarrete (two R's, one T) is B fighter. He's good, and he's hot right now, but he's far from infallible or unbeatable.

He didn't get drubbed, he got caught with a big shot and concussed. It happens.

Now, granted, Galahad is longer in the tooth, but I can remember when people were saying Khan would never accomplish anything after being clattered in less than half a round.

    Same thing with Badou Jack.

Fighters get caught and ended. It happens. Tonight's outcome was a massive surprise for a reason. (That isn't to say that Martinez deserves any less credit for his achievement.)

    But what does that mean?

Had Warrington been inactive throughout 2020 while Lara was busy fighting multiple times? Did he have as much respect for the anonymous Mex as he should've had coming into the fight? Probably not. That's on him, but you have to consider it as a possible factor, even while giving credit to Lara (who took his assignment seriously and did a great job).

It's worth noting that Warrington had considerable experience over Galahad in terms of the size of the stage and caliber of opposition, and it seemed most observers outside of West Yorkshire (and even some of those within West Yorkshire) thought Galahad won the fight regardless. Of the two, who do you think learned more from the experience? Who do you think would've more likely improved in a return bout?

Aside from which, guys have emerged from anonymity and turned out to be very good fighters over the course of a career. Let's see what Lara can do next.

Barry has been with Hearn for how many fights? He's completely irrelevant to anyone's beef with Matchroom. Eddie gave him short thrift for the longest.

I haven't disguised that I'm a longterm supporter of Galahad and that I wanted/expected him to win tonight. I'm not inclined to do the typical fan thing and make a bunch of excuses or withold due kudos from a deserving winner. I can even laugh at it. You kinda have to. But this 'Galahad goes from a talented boxer with a solid skillset to a domestic ham-and-egger in the space of two punches' stuff is dumb.

Galahad didn't get away with the dirty tactics he did against Dickens. Was obliterated.

Is that not disrespectful to taunt someone who is knocked out badly? You never know what state someone is in when they are out cold like that, it ain't like Barry was being disrespectful to Martinez either
