I wonder if Abe might just be too durable for Tommy. He went 13 with Joe Louis (scheduled for 20) and his resume shows some rays of light that make me think we’re underestimating him a bit — KO’d and retired Joe Walcott for four years; beat Roscoe Toles and drew with Turkey Thompson.

If he survives the early fireworks and gets the Duke into the later rounds, I could see him wearing Thomas down.

 

I can believe that. The guy was clearly strong AF but he was as slow as he was strong and had all the footwork of a statue and the head movement of another statue. Luckily he kept his chin tucked in and his hands high ... oh, wait.

I was wondering this, too. Tommy wasn't as accurate, nor do I think he hit as hard, as Louis.

 

I can honestly see either of them winning.

Joe Louis would make plenty of guys look bad, to be fair.
If you threw Morrison in with Louis and that was the only footage we had of Motrison we'd probably figure he was a chinny bum with nothing.
