Let's set the record straight because I heard a lot of BS in the recent days. Even trainers like Robert Garcia claimed that Sanchez made Golovkin into an elite fighter, a star. That is pure BS; in fact the opposite happened. Sanchez hasn't been relevant since the '90s when he trained fighters like Terry Norris before Golovkin joined his boxing gym in 2012. He gained relevance again because of GGG's success; but he had little to do with that.

Before Golovkin went into training in Big Bear in 2012 he should have been already a world champion. He was a regular champion in fact, but that only shows the corruption of WBA. Because Golovkin was shamefully ducked by Felix Sturm, Sturm didn't fight his mandatory, but WBA refused to strip him, they rather elevated Sturm to a Super Champion, while GGG became the regular one.

After GGG started fighting out of Big Bear, he indeed transformed into a star. That was because K2 and HBO started to promote him instead of Universum that shelved him. Sanchez also did the promotion by talking dumb **** like there is no tomorrow, but he only gained haters against GGG. Under Sanchez's tutelage GGG indeed changed his style. He became more exciting, more of a fan friendly type of fighter whom HBO could sell. But Sanchez didn't necessarily made GGG into a better boxer. He was already ducked by top middleweights for a reason and he had an exceptional amateur record before he turned pro.

Let's talk about Sanchez's qualities as a trainer. Kovalev was also trained by him. After they split Kovalev said that when he was training in Big Bear, he learned everything from GGG and nothing from Sanchez. He also said that Sanchez was nothing but a mitt holder, Golovkin trained himself. GGG certainly has qualities as a trainer, he taught some tricks to Barrera too

The incompetence of Sanchez was on full display in Golovkin's two fights against Alvarez and Gassiev - Usyk. In those fights Sanchez was incapable of advising anything useful to his fighters. He is good at preparing his fighters to get in shape, he also taught EE boxers like Gassiev how to train like a professional. But when it comes to the sweet science part of the sport (skills, strategy) Abel is way over his head. He is unable to teach defense to his fighters. Yet he demanded 10% of GGG's 100% million payday which was a joke; when fighters get paid like that no trainer gets 10% of their purses. Abel also shows no loyalty to his (former) fighters and cannot take a blame. He started badmouthing Kovalev as soon as the Russian left him. He put the blame on GGG after he lost a decision to Alvarez. Now he is badmouthing GGG as well. Why should Golovkin be loyal to him?

After nearly two decades Sanchez became relevant again thanks to Golovkin. He started asking a lot of money from his fighters as soon as GGG became a star, but he did not prove to be an elite trainer, that's part of the reason more and more fighters are starting to leave him - Joyce left him recently as well. Sanchez is an average trainer, who became lucky because a fighter like Golovkin fell into his lap. GGG owes nothing to him, at least not 10% of his $100 million payday. Now watch Abel become irrelevant again.

The impact of professional trainers are way overrated. Amateur coaches at young age matters a lot, and strength and conditioning trainers later on.

The thing is, can GGG still box like his Amateur style? Incorporate skills he dropped wit Abel?

It will be interesting to see, but I doubt it.

Keep acting tough on the internet when you are pushing 60, you pathetic old clown. You are also incapable of adding anything of value to the discussion, but that was expected from a good for nothing petty criminal like yourself. Please do a favor to humanity once in your life and rope yourself.

Robert Garcia said he is an elite trainer, one of the best. I tend to believe Robert Garcia a former world champion an hall of fame trainer over you.

He did a good job with GGG took a guy with a trash resume, whose best win for years was Martin Murray and turned him into a semi-star and draw. Now all of a sudden the party is over and GGG fans want to say he was no good and did nothing for him.:shakehead: Reminds me of what Pac fans did to Roach after he and Pac parted ways. I say Sanchez has been great for GGG's career he was ranked P4P #1 FFs to deny this is ridiculous. Say what you will but GGG will never reach such great heights again without Sanchez.

What sucking off you dumb ****? You didn't even bother to read my original post, you only red the thread title and immediately posted a smiley like an immature child. Nowhere did I suck off anybody, I just refused to give credit to Abel Sanchez for Golovkin's success. But I get why you like to use words like sucking off, that was the reason you were respected by every inmate in Texas.

Kovalev said that Abel Sanchez DKSAB. He has first hand experiences with Sanchez, he was trained by him, Robert Garcia wasn't. Therefore Kovalev's opinion matters more.
