If you're a Spence fan, I wouldn't throw too many stones...if you look in to a crystal ball for Errol, there's a lot of similarities to the path GGG went down. Looks like a terror vs the top 10 guys who'll fight him. The top guys usually want nothing to do with him. Left to pull up smaller fighters for the name value in lopsided fights. Promoters who can't/won't get the biggest fights done. GGG finally got some big fights now that he's old, but Spence has more time on his side. Hopefully we get them sooner for him. Personally, I don't put it on the fighters in the big picture that more megafights didn't happen when it's clear the top dogs either don't want it or were being kept away from them. That said, I'm bummed that GGG is in pure cash out mode. The Vanes fight I gave him a pass for, the Rolls fight is garbage. The only reason Rolls makes sense from a career perspective is that it gives him a camp with his new trainer to experiment with that carries absolutely zero risk, but I still don't like it from a fan's point of view.
So what? All this **** is marginal. Jacobs narrowly beat Golovkin, and he is a great fighter. Golovkin beat Canelo at least once. None of those guys are bad fighters, the only thing about Canelo is he been juicing. To me Crawford is at the top of p4p list, but it's all marginal, let Crawford look less than stellar for a few rounds and people will lower him in rankings. It's just alot of BS.
Fair post. Ggg took too much step aside money for my liking. He also could have moved up to fight ward. Spence would have already fought Thurman by now if he hadn't been injured off and on for the past 2 1/2 years. Hes also with haymon who has plenty options at 147. The crawford fight might not get made though.
Its interesting on the other thread about this topic someone posted GGG's twitter post and he seemed so gracious discussing Sanchez and was amicable and Sanchez is the other way around maybe GGG can act this way because he is in the drivers seat and Sanchez cant do anything about it Wondering why the split especially so late in a career
Absolutely NO chance Abel says GGG is sick, even if he is. Unless he throws up on stage, or passes out while weighing in, Abel is gonna say GGG is 100%. Just like vs Rosado -- it didn't come out that he was ill until after the fight... Announcing it beforehand would be stupid unless you're planning on pushing back the date.
GGG is the biggest diva in the sport. You would never see Canelo betray the Reynosos like this. Abel did not pull any punches in calling the G man greedy, ungrateful and with no ethics, honor or integrity ! Those are pretty harsh words, but Abel speaking out about what really happened shows the world how two-faced GGG really is.
I know it's chilling isn't it, for GGG to put forth such a friendly facade in public but behind the scenes he's a greedy ungrateful master manipulator.
I'd like to see a third side of the story is all. just a crazy disparity in reaction to the situation
Yeah I mean I don't think anyone expected that kind of a response from Abel after that statement from GGG.
if goose's post earlier in the thread is right about GGG getting the 80 mil from DAZN and Abel expecting the 10% I can see him getting pissed off if GGG is backing off their agreement and then firing him and him getting nothing
