He said I had it even after the fight. Today he is saying I didn’t say I had it even I had it 7-5 but that’s because it was Vegas, really the scorecards should have been 8-4.

And this is why I was so critical of his earlier comments. You can't as a trainer make these flippant statements which carry a lot of weight because it's going to bite you in the ass, he tried to appear sportsmanlike but now he has to backtrack (probably because he pissed off GGG and the promoters) and he looks like a hypocrite.

He should have said this from the beginning:

"I think we won but I respect the judges decision". That'd have been the most diplomatic thing to do, EVEN if he really feels a draw or Canelo win is the right result. Can't just go around talking about how Canelo deserves the win and everything whilst GGG is pissed off about getting jobbed. That's just not something you should be doing. It's common sense really.

You can make them but you better stick to them and not do a 360. If you ain’t sure just say i need to watch the fight back because I think we won but it was tight. Instead he started by lavishing praise on Canelo, which suggests he really thought Canelo won imo. Come on how is a good performance good enough to rub away the fact that Canelo cheated, that must have been one hell of a performance to Sanchez.

Well with the absence of actual quotes, we just have your word to take for it? That said, I am getting tired of Abel too. I hate when trainers are two faced about their fighters.

You CHOOSE to believe those because it fits your agenda. Sanchez maybe was a little disappointet because he thought GGG should have fought a little differently. He took into account what was likely to happen in Vegas. All that does not mean GGG lost the fight. He just won it in a different way than anybody was expecting.

These were his quotes just after the fight-

“We had good judges, who saw it from different angles. I can’t complain about the decision, but it’s close enough to warrant a third fight”

“They gave us [their] all in the ring. Canelo is a champion today. He deserves it. He fought a great fight”

“we can’t be hypocritical, standing here and standing here and complain about every damn decision we lose. Look, the judges were good judges”

“So in the fight, I was trying to have Gennady make it a fight. Instead of allowing Canelo to rest, I wanted him to fight more. But the fight was close enough that [there was a] one-round difference. It could’ve gone either way. I think the last round was the round that made the difference.”

“I wanted Golovkin to fight Canelo. If Canelo was gonna stand in the middle of the ring, I wanted him to fight Canelo.”

“I scored the fight even. I thought that the 12th round was the pivotal round. I said to Golovkin in the corner that I thought we were behind in about the 8th or 9th, and I told him I needed the rounds at the end. I thought it was even, but you know what? Canelo won, and that’s what’s important.”

My post history has seen me mock Sanchez for his bluster and stupidity many a time. I agree though, people often only cite people's posts as legitimate when they're arguing for whatever they also believe in.

One only needs to see how certain posters who normally take everything Mayweather says as gospel as crap when he said he had Kovalev a clear winner against Ward.

He's just saying he accepts the decision because they got the judges they wanted. And he's a bit more critical with his own fighter just minutes after the fight. I'm not a big fan of Abel but he's not admitting anything here, he was just ready to move on because he thought it was pointless to complain any further. A little later that same evening he said he thought they won the fight by 2 rounds.

“ I felt it was 6-5 going into the 12th, so I just wanted the 12th round to be more decisive. Not that I thought we were 6-5, but I took into account we were in Vegas, it was more 7-4 really, but taking into consideration where you're at. That's why I tried to implore him that I needed this round just to be sure,"

This wasn’t what he said before. He had it even before but now he is saying GGG should have won. He is changing his story.

He had a dozen micophones in his face and had not had the time to think clearly or structure his answers. Also don't forget these guys are boxers/coaches not lawyers.
You're trying to pin him down and I'm asking why? I'd rather take a well thought through opinion. You always get your point across perfectly in seconds I presume, all the while being under huge emotional stress.

If there's one thing that I'll grant you is that he was trying to save face a little. He was the one taunting and they got the judges they wanted, he couldn't ***** about that. He was afraid of the fallout a little bit.

It all comes down to this, everyone had anticipated the fight differently than it actually played out. That should not cloud your judgement (pun intended;)). Just because you didn't think GGG couldn't the fight fighting that style doesn't mean he didn't.

360 puts you back in exactly the same place. You mean 180....

There are ways around this, he isn’t the fighter so it’s not like he has been taking blows to the head and his thoughts are muddled. He said he scored every round. If it was me I would have said, it was a good fight, much different to the first, I thought we did enough to win but I need time to watch it back And reflect. I see coaches say that all the time, its a way good way to stall for time.

Problem with Sanchez the guy has a big mouth and because he talks so much but he kinda put his foot in it with goading Canelo and then Canelo fighting the style he wanted and GGG not.

We can argue & fight forever but wont make a bit of difference
Canelo got the decision as we all suspected he would whatever happened in the fight
IMHO Bennett, the NSAC & Vegas boxing are all blatantly corrupt.
With all the shennanikins involving Floyd over the tears & now they are doing the same stuff with Canelo. Both are regarded as cash cows the $$$$$$ fighters who are given every advantage both legal & illegalyp ensure "victory"
The State Commissions are todays version of the 50s mob
They control the sport do exactly what they want & no one can do a damn thing about it
