How can you duck someone that you never had an opportunity to fight? When Jermall forces the fight while Golovkin has the WBC belt then they will fight. He doesn't have a history at all of avoiding the mandatory opponents.

 

Time is a flat circle, the problems GGG had landing big fights when he was younger is going to happen to young guys like Charlo.

 

Who is Charlo's biggest victory? An UD decision against Trout? Next fight against Centeno? Who is that? Why he doesn't challenge Jacobs, BJS or Murata if he is that good?

As a boxing fan I’d love to see GGG vs Charlo
But we know reality and the fight doesn’t make sense financially for ggg

 

Clearly the Canelo fight comes first, more money and a far more proven fighter, and the blemish on GGG's record. After that if Charlo is mandatory I don't see why Golovkin wouldn't fight him, assuming an aging Golovkin decides to fight on.

Charlo's good, but he has a weak claim for being the next in line with BJS right there. That's the fight Canelo-GGG's winner must take.

Looking past that....What's Charlo done to separate himself from the other top contenders like the Andrade-Derevyanchenko winner (provided that fight comes off), Murata, or Jacobs? Heck, Jacobs is fighting the guy who schooled and knocked out Charlo's next opponent.

If one of those contenders really wants to force the issue, they need to gamble and fight another top guy. We should be seeing some combo of Jacobs, Murata, and Charlo fighting each other. Instead, Murata and Charlo have mismatches lined up next.

GGG nearly has fully revived the near dead MW division. Let’s all give him a round of applause for that.

He’s earned his money fights against Canelo. Then a unification after that. Then it’s business as usual.

I doubt 1-2 years ago when GGG was STILL getting shutout over big fights he would’ve refused to fight Charlo. Now he has the money fights in his pocket it doesn’t make sense for him currently. Once he’s beaten Canelo and unified against BJS (provided he wins 2/2) he can look elsewhere. He’s definitely earned where he’s at.

 

Funny how GGG has to knock over guy after guy for years just to get a Lemieux fight or a Jacobs fight yet Charlo comes up to 160 and beats some nobody then challenges GGG and it's a duck. Hell the **** no. Charlo has to beat a legit middleweight like Jacobs or whoever if he wants to be in the talks of being ducked if GGG doesn't fight him.

It's always about the money and everyone knows this but plays dumb anyway.
That's why when guys talk that legacy B.S. I laugh inside. Believe me ,men are men, you wave enough money around and they will fight whoever you tell them to. Both Canelo and GGG are going to fight each other until mid 2019. The 160 division will have to prey on BJS and the WBO.
In fact I have a feeling that Haymon is going to pull the mando card and that GGG is going to drop that belt, because Canelo has beef with the WBC, and just fight for money. Floyd was the most honest boxer after all.
