So I heard an interview between dontae boxing and Abel Sanchez. Dontae asked when GGG would fulfill his WBC mandatory obligation by fighting Jermall Charlo.

Able responded with “Charlo doesn’t deserve a title shot” and how Charlo disrespected GGG by saying he wants those “three little gs next” lol

Able was Saying how GGG has bigger things going on than Charlo (true), how Cotto and Martinez didn’t fight GGG so why should GGG fight Charlo. It was an obvious duck to anyone that understood boxing.

Charlo can talk all the crap he wants it will help us notoriety as he can gain publicity by saying GGG pulling a Canelo by not fighting the mandatory.

The truth is, GGG is only taking money fights now. Especially after the 2 Canelo pay days it makes very little sense to fight a dangerous opponent like Jermall. Jermall needs to KO Centeno and make noise at 160 to further his career. IF GGG beats Canelo he will then fight Saunders to unify. Charlo should target the other middleweights to make his own name that way when GGG/Canelo vacate he can win some titles. If somehow BJS wins all the titles off Canelo/GGG maybe he can get that fight.

It’s funny how Charlo finds himself in a similar position (much better for his age) than GGG was in. High risk low reward fighter

If Charlo doesn't deserve a shot , then Golovkin didn't deserve a title shot against Sturm , therefore nobody ever ducked Golovkin. :sisi3:

The Problem is that Charlo hasn't done anything @MW yet Heiland was only medicore and Centeno Jr isn't a top 10 MW either. All Charlo has to do is to beat 1 or 2 top 10 guys at MW and the fight will happen
Don't get me wrong Charlo looks like next big thing but guys like Jacobs, the Saunders vs Murray winner, Murata and IBF mandatory Derevyanchenko are more deserving the Golovkin fight at the moment.
I don't think the GGG vs Charlo fight will happen this year

Wrong again WBA regular Champ Golovkin waited 2 years for a possible Sturm fight until Superchamp Sturm fought Geale instead and lost. Charlo is only a MW since 9 month

Charlo is fighting the guy Sulecki schooled. Dude has to pick up the pace if he wants the fight in a year.

Looks like Derevyanchenko - Andrade may be getting made. Jacobs is fighting Sulecki, who is actually lower top 10 caliber at 160. Other guys are higher priority targets with better cases for having earned a Canelo/GGG fight, and ducking has nothing to do with it.

There's nothing anyone can do to leapfrog BJS in line, to boot.

Who did Mugabi beat at MW to deserve a shot at Hagler? Nobody is the answer.

Charlo is a name and an attraction so it makes for a good fight. GGG was a nobody and brought nothing to the table against Sturm therefor he had no need to take the risk for no reward at the time.
If Charlo doesn't deserve it then GGG didn't deserve it either.

I think the winner of the Canelo vs GGG II winner could drop the WBC belt.

Maybe if Canelo wins but Golovkins goal is to unify all the belts. It would suprise me if he drops a belt.

I would also be surprised if GGG vacates, but i feel he is currently at a point in his career where he is only interested in making the big money fights, but hopefully neither Canelo or Golovkin vacate.

There seems to be some bad blood as the WBC considers Canelo a bit of a traitor. As such, I could see Canelo dropping it straight away and telling them where to stuff their bill.

GGG is dead set on unification, so if he wins, it'll be BJS next and they'll get an exemption from the WBC to let it happen for all the titles. If- and it's an if at this point- GGG wins that, it's anybody's guess if he maintains the belts or drops a couple.

It was bull**** for guys to duck Golovkin when he was on the way up and it's bull**** if Golovkin starts to play the same game. I'll be terribly disappointed of one of my favourite boxers started doing the same ****. I'd excuse postponing a mando for, say, a unification, though.

Charlo needs to earn his shot at 160.

His only stand out victory is Trout who arguably beat him and was dealt with far easier by Canelo, Lara and Hurd.

well get ready to be disappointed then because boxing economics rules supreme. If GGG beats Canelo and then BJS to unify, the most logical fight would be the winner of the WBSS especially if its Eubum Jr in UK for big dollars.
Each fighter should be looked at as a corporation. The goal of the corp is profit. At this point in his career, GGG is looking at maximizing his dollars. GGG himself isnt a big draw, so GGG vs Charlo would at best sell out a local arena and maaaybe 150k ppv. And he risks losing to Charlo and giving him the shine.

Thats why I didnt care that Cotto avoided GGG. Cotto had the Canelo fight to cash out on in a big way. Imagine if he was brave by fighting GGG in 2015 instead of Canelo, getting stopped, and making less than half the money.

A duck is a duck, but I personally dont care if it makes sense. GGG has Canelo in front of him which is a big money fight and a fight he can easily lose. If GGG does lose to Canelo than I can see him moving up to 168 for his last few paydays.

Ummm. If Eubank is top dog at 168 I have to admit that I would like to see him vs GGG finally. So long as Charlo is OK with getting step aside cash (and it would probably be quite a lot) then I'm OK with it too. What I'm not OK with is if Charlo demanded the mando over a step-aside payout and GGG dropped the belt in response, which is a clear duck. Or if the WBC or whoever invented a "Super Platinum Supreme Belt" for GGG and forced Charlo to fight some other bum instead.
