True but that's saying a lot if he's gotta move up a division and face Ward to find a legit threat. You'd think a title shot on HBO would work for MW contenders. It usually comes with a career high purse, though not outsized like 10x.

You heard what you wanted to hear. Darren will fight anyone. Fighters will fight anyone. What he said about other fighters turning down fights is misinformation on his part. He was being called on his promoter's outlook by the guy recording the interview, lmao.

Eventually, after Macklin already passed twice. He was reluctant to take it on 3rd attempt, but HBO put pressure on his promoter, who in turn put the squeeze on him. He came in all terrified, remember? But he got almost as much money as the champ and a return date.

So maybe they can get all these other guys in the ring with GGG for good money and perks, but chances are they come in terrified and lay down.

You're making zero sense. When that interview was made Macklin had not signed up for the fight, and had previously passed several times. Eventually he's pressured into signing, and comes in terrified. Shows you what will happen when these other avoiders are pushed in the ring with GGG, will be a sad sight.

i take nothing away from abel sanchez...but i had to stop reading when he said ggg could be number 2 behind ali. sorry....ali is not number 1 in all of boxing. that was sugar ray robinson. ali said so himself.

i like ggg...i'm a huge fan and have been following this guy since the amateurs. he doesn't have the opposition in front of him to become number 2 behind robinson....or even ali.
