Mike Tyson was the last HW champ < 6" and likely will be for the next 100 years.

:blood Toneys old HW ass had as fast if not faster hands than Golovkin.
I think even Jones Jr commented on Toneys fast hands at HW

Are there any fighters like John Ruiz around that are slow as **** with no skills like Ruiz who can grab a belt? That would be the only way he could do it. Otherwise it isn't going to happen.

My opinion is that GGG is what he is.

A small, prime MW. He aint gonna get taller. He could put on weight and be highly effective at SMW, but I think that's his peak in terms of greatness.

Not saying he couldnt beat a few LHWs.....he could KO Stevenson....probably outwork BHop over 12, but Kovalev would be twice his size with just as much or more power. He'd have to dig real deal to beat BHop and Sergei........

No way he'd beat Huck or JPH.:think

But yet he won't move up 8 lbs. to take on Ward.

Ward isn't fighting anyone. He is content to sit on the sidelines and play armchair QB on HBO. Can't holds that against GGG. Ward would rather be tied up in court than fight.

When it was brought up during an interview GGG admitted he is afraid of Ward and does not want to fight him.

Sure he is, he's building hype and keeping his name out there.

Golovkin is about to sell out MSG and he's not even American or anywhere close to the US like a Mexican or Puerto Rican.

That is great and all but how does that even matter when Ward is tied up in his 2nd or 3rd arbitration hearing in court to break from Goosen? Ward isn't available regardless if GGG is scared or not. That was my point. Ward isn't going to be fighting anyone until he gets a 2nd or is it 3rd ruling from the courts.

True. I hear you Rico. It's frustrating to see such a talented guy spend more time in courtrooms than inside the ring.

I agree I like Ward and think he is wasting his Prime right now which is a shame there are some good fights for him (GGG, Chavez Jr, Froch, etc)

Also I am still on a wait and see approach about GGG. He is an exciting fighter for sure but exactly how devastating or good he is we haven't had a sample size big enough. If he can blow out Geale early in 1 or 2 rounds that will tell us more but I really want to see what he would do with a Cotto, Ward, Chavez Jr, Froch to really judge him.

He's getting his name out there with outlandish platitudes that he knows GGG will never reach, when he doesn't live up to the great expectations his own trainer sets for him, it gives ammunition to his detractors.
