Abner Mares is becoming a real force!

I love the way he counters by punching his opponent in the bollocks again and again and again.

 

Top five??? No.. Top 15.. YES definitely... top ten.. maybe... he's the best at the weight I think.. but Rigo and Donaire would be problems for him at 122

 

slow your role crazy man, he never knocked out darchinyan and montiel, 2 guys that were rated p4p at that time. Granted he has had a tough run recently of opposition, but he still got a gift against darchinyan, drew with perez, got like 40 low blows during the first agbeko fight. The only time he has won against great opposition is his second fight against agbeko, Morel as good as he is a veteran is pretty much past it still Mares looked good in that fight but it seems when he steps up on competition things are not always so cut and dry. But it's always good for a young fighter like Mares to get the experience by fighting the best opposition available. He says he wants a Donaire fight but he doesn't have the power to win that fight.
