Abner mares, is he mexican or american?

    Confused on this. Represented mexico in olympics but lives in america. Also speaks great english.

    Hehe ****ers. Born in Mexico raised in the U.S. Just like Nonito a Filipino American Abner a Mexican American. Both probably can relate to America more than their native countries. Alot of friends I know born in the Philipines and Mexico and some know very little spanish or tagalog.

    Moved to the US when he was six and then went back to Mexico from 16-19 to fight on the national team.

    Born in MEX raised in California. Got into gangs and trouble as a teen, so mom sent him back to MEX to get away from all that a bit. Came back more disciplined and a more focused fighter.
