Abner Mares v Leo Santa Cruz likely for August 29th

After watching Leos last fight i see Mares winning no matter how shot he is.

The ref inexplicably took a point from Moreno randomly.

 

This fight might actually be exciting, but a lot of the luster has worn off for me. With Santa Cruz taking easy fights for the last year, and Mares getting KO1 by Gonzalez, ducking a rematch, and fighting lesser opposition as well, it's hard for me to care. I'll still watch it though. lol

Both of these guys really need this fight. I haven't been impressed with their recent level of opposition (in LSC's case, it's been going on for a few years now.)

This match has the potential of being a FOTY candidate. Both of these guys are action packed fighters, I expect a barn-burner matchup with most of the fight taking place right in the pocket.

The winner can really catapult themselves to bigger and better things after this match.

 

At what weight? Is this for Leo's title?

 

God i hope mares wins. Leo is acting like a mexican mayweather and his obvious ducking of el chacal was embarrassing.

 

No doubt. It really is a matter of if Mares can get back to some semblance of his previous self, as opposed to LSC who needs to prove that he can compete at a higher level with no power or defense. Not convinced of either, but if forced to pick I'm betting on the former.
