My ASSumption is Mares was Prob having trouble making SBW.
Bigger money than his current weightclass @Featherweight.

You guys realize who Mares has fought in the past few years right? I think he has earned the right to fight whoever the hell he wants. He really has fought the who's who's of the lower weight classes.

yeah 122 is small as hell :yep
I was wondering if he was. He needed a catchweight to fight Morel and he seemed fine vs Moreno. 4 extra pounds is a big benefit when you're cutting and have no incentive to stay at the weight.
Though from a fan's perspective, a mandatory, Donaire and then Cruz fight would have been ideal.

I even would like to see a Moreno rematch if Moreno grows into 122 comfortably

    :good

Agreed on the Santa Cruz fight.
(I like this fight more than a Donaire clash)

The same was said about Mares vs. Moreno and we know how that went. I'm not ever counting out or doubting Mares.

At 126 I don't think he has realized what's in store in this division

There were some good ones to be made at 122, again fans lose

Still waiting for you to back up your claim that boxing sites are backing GBP contract proposal as legit GBP Stan. You have no place here until you put up or recant.

Yeah. Arum said the lawyers were 'working on it' and it would be revisited after the Nonito/Rigo fight so this comes as a shock. A few things have really made me wonder how well informed he was of the situation. In an interview he never once mentioned the $1 mill offer to face Nonito. Was he ignorant of it, following the script or simply didn't want to appear as ducking his biggest payday against his biggest opponent?

I'm cool with that. Don;t wait on Donaire, go up and look for anotha belt while Donaire handles Rigo. They can fight at featherweight and it'll still be fire.

Has Mikey Garcia announced his next ideal fight yet, or still healin up his busted nose? Mares could beat him 4sho. I'll be surprised if Mares don't immediately go for a title at 126 since he givin his strap at 122.
