Thinkin about throwin some cash down on Mares, but I'm not too familiar with Gabi. So I was wondering your thoughts on him and if it's worth it because Mares is a big favorite. Is this a walk in the park for Mares or a tougher fight than most would think?
I know a few people are picking the upset. Haven't seen either of them yet, and definitely wouldn't want money straight on an 8-1 favorite I've never seen.
Gabi's not half bad, and I think Mares is a bit overrated. I'm sure GBP wouldn't put him in there if they thought there was even a chance Mares would lose. Gabi was outboxing Darchinyan before he did the chicken dance. Gabi's a hell of a counterpuncher with decent power for his size, but he's very small (even for a bantamweight) and has a tendency to block punches with his face. I suspect Mares will win, but Gabi probably shouldn't be an 8-1 dog.
