Just checked Jhonny's record, seems like he's really only struggled with southpaws in the last several years, and had a typical "rough" period earlier in his career due to being so young and thrown to the wolves... Kid of reminds me of Salido.

Yep, I would have clinched in a New York minute!

Who knows, he might have even been able to come back.

    Well, it's all moot now.

Prime Gerry Peñalosa would KO Mares in 10 seconds.

    Gray interviews Mares.

He is asked what he just said to Gonzalez. He says he congratulated his old friend and this is his day. Mares says the loss isn't getting to him. You win some and lose some. He says he is here in the sport to fight the best and won't take his ball and go home just because he is no longer undefeated; staying undefeated was never his primary goal. He is asked if he remembers the knockout. He says he thinks it was probably an overhand right. (wrong). He says he thought he was OK but he respects the referee's discretion. He says he will take a break and spend time with his family and consider his next move.

    Very gracious and humble, classy.

    Peñalosa is ridiculously underrated/under-appreciated.

Mares is a gracious and classy guy, but he was dazed and don't you agree that fighters in his state shouldn't be doing interviews?

In general yes but in this case it wasn't particularly humiliating for Mares and he seemed to appreciate the chance to connect briefly with his fans and drop in a few shout-outs. If he wasn't so lucid or emotionally stable then yeah it would be tasteless of Gray.
