the most I've been looking forward to a fight all year and I'm 90% sure I'll be missing it. Going out and so will probably not get to see it til late Sunday night so I'll have to wait for then to come on here to talk about it. Gutted :-(

Wherever Mares ends up after this fight, we'll definetely know for sure that his balls are halfway down Antonio Tarver's throat at all times.

Or maybe I've got it mixed up, and the Mares 'bumming' during the Darch/Mares fight (blatantly obvious) was down to his hatred of 'Viktor' Darchinyan, rather than his love for Mares......

 

That is the single most annoying thing in boxing. When was he ever called Viktor? Why does Milk Dud do it? Is he trying to act sophisticated now? Bit late Milk Dud.

He's a decent commentator though, not on Bernstein or Larry Merchant level obviously, but the rare off night aside, he's not doing too badly.

I had a feeling. Just didn't want to take a shot in the dark and fall flat on my face.

Tarver has the edge for me. I think they're both good co-commentators though, I just feel Tarver offers a little bit more. Though I do like some of Roy's analogies and insights, he's quite good at spotting stuff that the other commentators don't, while Tarver is more solid and generally observes in a more dramatic way (like a commentator, as opposed to an observer). Like them both loads though. What ye think?

Performed much better than I remember, a really good showing from Vic IMO, not seen that kind of movement or countering with the left hand before, I was damn impressed. Considering he's 34 aswell, it was a cracking job he did on the younger more athletic fighter, IMO.

Needless to say, I didn't find Mares's performance inspiring :yep

 

Good point actually. Tarver is much more commentator-like than Roy. I do think Roy's a tad more insightful though. I can't really pick between them.

Maybe one for the controversial opinions thread, but IMO Viktor Crabchinyan is an ATG lower weight fighter, maybe borderline right now, but one or two more high caliber wins and he's there I think.
