What you guys think? Mares is green right now, actually both of these guys are not even in their prime yet. So in a few years lets say 1.5-2 years if these two guys are still undefeated or still on top of their game how would you see the fight play out? Mares has some wicked fast hands, I've never seen his chin tested though. We've never seen Lopez' chin tested either since he blew PDL out of the water without really getting hit much...

What you guys think? Possibly future super fight between the lower weight classes I'd say. These guys are both 2 technical punching machines. It would make for a brutal brutal fight.

I would favor a 115 version of Juanma to beat Mares at 118.

Well Mares is only 5'5. And Lopez is a beast at 5'7 making 122lbs..I don't think he could ever get down to that kind of weight. I guess there would be a huge buffer zone that Lopez would have just because of his size and southpaw stance. He could easily Jab Mares and keep him off of him as Mares seems more of a rangy fighter not really an inside fighter.

I'm talking about a P4P superflyweight version of Juanma, not the actual one. The actual Juanma fighting Mares is a complete mismatch.

Ah my bad lol. Yeah I agree as of right now Mares is extremely green and he is going to have to be brought up very well like Miguel Cotto was. They need to properly build Mares up because I see a lot of potential in him but he needs the right guidance into the big time fights.

This will be a great future fight IMO. Mares is still green and Lopez still has a long way to go before actually establishing himself as the best of 122.

But it will sure turn heads when Mares steps up from his dominance at 118 to take Lopez's titles at 122.

I don't think he can do it even if he improves, Lopez will most likely improve because if he still is champ by the time Mares moves up that will only mean 1 thing, He'd be battle tested with A LOT of experience. Lopez is a very BIG 122lber. But this is all very early, either way it will be a fantastic fight if it ever materializes into what we want it to be.

It depends on how Abner Mares looks against Ponce de Leon. If Mares beats PDL, I think he takes out Juanma easily.

Juanma looked rubbish in his most recent fight.
He looked past prime and lacked confidence.
