Abner Mares vs Yhonny Perez May 22nd.

I am beginning to feel the excitement for this matchup. We may see the beginning of a new Mexican Boxing Star or another exposed prospect.

 

I'll take Yhonny via close but clear UD or via late stoppage. Abner will win rounds early with his better skills but I don't think he has the stamina to keep up and keep off Yhonny in the later stages of the fight.

mares is one of my faves and the one thing that he lacks is good opposition. this would be a good fight for him win or lose.

But I still hope that even at this early stage of his career, he steps up and wins.

Other than perhaps Canelo, Mares is probably the best rising contender that Mexico has. It's very important that he has a good showing tonight against the tough Colombian.
