If Rigo tries that hook/grab ur head stuff, Mares will punch him right in the balls. Agbeko thought he could get away with it, pulling Mares head down and Abner showed him whats up. Mares might not beat Rigo but he'll come to fight and come to win. Not stand there and stare like Nonito.

Mares will do better than Donaire for a number of reasons. I think he is smarter fighter than Donaire...well, because he actually come to the ring with a plan and can adjust mid-fight.

Donaire is a good boxer, but Rigo was a better boxer. When you find out someone is better at something, you have adjust and Donaire didn't. You don't box a master boxer, you fight him. Mares is going to fight Rigo like he did Moreno...with relentless pressure.

He was successful against Moreno, who is a better boxer than Mares. There is no doubt he can be successful again. Even if he isn't, he'll do better than Donaire.

Him coming forward will be his downfall, Rigo will land hard bodyshots and headshots then Mares has no plan b, Moreno has no power Rigo has alot of power
Mares can try but he will basically be walking into his own doom

That's the only way to beat a master boxer. You come forward and apply relentless pressure. Time and time again, it has worked in the past and it will work again, but you need the right type of fighter to pull it off. Mares is capable of doing it.

Mares can't beat Rigo any other way. He can't out-box him. He can't walk him down. He will do it the only way he knows how. Mares will apply intense pressure no matter the risks. He'll do it even if it means putting himself at risk of being KO'ed.

Yeah dont get me wrong Mares comes to fight hes no joke, but i just think to beat Rigondeaux you gotta have a bit of a wild style and catch him with a swing, kinda like Donaire's but it didnt work, When Mares is in the middle of the ring Rigo will try and land as many punches as he can then as soon as he gets to the ropes its all about slipping and sliding and getting back to the centre
Don't think Mares is the man to do it, i like him but the style is all wrong

    Some good brakdowns here...

Mares would employ a great gameplan and come to fight, not stare at rigo the whole 12 rounds like if its a weigh in and get his **** pushed in, and his face made into target practice... Mares would corner rigo with goo defense head movement and angles.

Mares is very intelligent he would do good against RIgo, and I'd love to see it... I still don't think Mares would be the favorite but it would be a better match up stylistically then donaire, Mares ain't a face first brawler he will employ intelligent pressure and make it a fight with high volume.

Mares fears no one. He's already taken out 1 defensive oriented, slick, counterpunching Southpaw. It doesn't matter though. Unless Arum dies or steps down soon, this fight can't happen.

:deal Somebody that knows what they talking about. Look what Mares did with a bonafide slick fighter like Moreno. Mares style is the worst thing for Rigo and his biggest threat, not Nonito. A+ Boxer vs. A+ Pressure fighter. Mares won't be ducking no one even the mighty Rigo. Arum will prevent this one from happening.

    :lol::patsch

Donaire ducked 3 mill to not get his **** pushed in by a mexican warrior, to get his **** pushed in by a superior boxer, donaire was ****ing target practice up in that *****.

    Rigo Schools Donaire.
Mares by hard fought decision, styles make fights.
    Rigo Mares 50/50

I think you may be onto something there. What fighter wants to take on a guaranteed loss?
