I think that 122 is history for Junama so if you want to consider that running, call it what you want
Yeah, just like Henry Tillman kicked Tyson's arse in the amateurs and then in the pro ring. Oh no, wait a minute.
Juanma is getting way overrated. Mares is getting way underrated. I don't ever expect to see Abner throwing so many amateur punches the was Lopez did last saturday.
So why is Mares being held back if he's ready for these sorts of fights? Face it, JuanMa would kick his arse fight about now. In the future, who knows?
How many people can make it through the first 6 though? Lontchi was in no shape, and Penelosa was just being annhilated. Mares has skills but he has faced nobody close to Juanma.
have you seen mares and juanma fight in the ammy's......nothing really has changed....your trying to make a case where one fighters style was suited more for the pro's than the ammy's, like tysons style.....sort of like cotto when he lost to pinto and abdulaev but ate them up for breakfast, lunch and dinner in the pro's......juanma's and mares' styles havn't really changed since the ammy's, which is why i'm usint that as an example....now add that with juanma's lack of conditioning and i feel mares would win
Mares is the next hype-job to get exposed. Mark my words. I don't even think he has Linares's talent.
I have to agree ... Mares is something that Juanma has never seen, this kid has skill and speed to match ... he would've made a strong attempt to outclass JuanMa ... because based on what people are saying about this past Sat ... JuanMa has no plan B, C, or D ... its just to fight hard, harder, and hardest. One thing I can say about Miguel is that Miguel will box at times especially if he's in there with a guy that's just as strong or as willed as he is. JuanMa needs to get in touch with his inner boxer ... and pull some rabbits out of a hat at times ... he's so worried about knocking people out ... **** ... he probably could've out boxed that guy from a distance if he wanted too ... but just like Penalosa ... he took too much unneccessary punishment and was flinging away - wasting alot of much needed energy and power. Maybe JuanMa needs a new trainer !! I still think JuanMa beats Gamboa though ...
JuanMa is a good fighter and a great power puncher with the right hook ... but he's not like Tito and Miguel to where those guys could box and would box either to get a knockout or to win a fight against a tough opponent. I haven't seen JuanMa do that yet ... I'm a huge fan of Lopez but at this rate he can only beat guys by knocking them out ... I assure you guys that are talking that **** that he couldn't beat Chris John ... and he might have trouble against Caballero ...
