Abner Mares would beat Nonito Donaire

    Donaire is extremely overrated. He has great tools, but as far as boxing technique he is not deserving of his place on many people's top P4P rankings. I'm not sure that people realize just how much Nonito Donaire gets hit. ALOT of leather is landed on Donaire, his defense is not very good. Abner Mares will land plenty of leather on Doanire and Abner Mares has enough power to make that leather count. I see a fight in which Mares chases Nonito for the first 4 rounds and finally the pressure catches up to Donaire and his face begins to bust up as the fight slowly edges on. Late stoppage win for Abner Mares via a great pressure fight.

    your theory might be correct if he gets hurt. I've never seen Nonito hurt in a fight...and getting marked up by jabs doesnt equate to being hurt or wobbled

    One of the best fights that can be made in boxing (better than Donaire-Rigo, IMO.)

    Not likely that it will ever come to fruitition do to promotional conflicts.

    Think Donaire will beat Mares for the record.

    Mares needed Mora to fix the first fight with Agbeko to win their first first fight and the bantamweight tournament.

    It's a tough fight to pick, I think I'd edge Donaire though. Either way Moreno is going to school Mares and if Donaire beats Nishioka then mans up and fights Moreno after that he too will lose to Moreno
