Abner Mares

I'm not a big fan of Marquez-Izzy but if this is the only big payday these guys can get then I understand.

NICE fight with Mares and Perez. Perez is a very underrated fighter and Mares had a lot of hype riding behind him before injuries slowed him up. I expect that to be a FOTYC.

 

Good fight. I'm leaning towards Yhonny defeating Abner.

 

I think Mares is nothing special. Maybe he wins this fight, but he'll top out thereafter. Wouldn't be surprised if he gets beaten up here.

It makes me sad that RM/IV is happening. I know this is the only fight that gets them paid, but these matchups are a little too violent. I just hope they both make it out of the ring OK.

 

I'd love for them to be the first pair of rivals to co-announce their retirement in the post-fight interview. Has that ever happened? :think

 

perez is a tough tough guy, man. the good thing about perez too is that he can fight really good going backwards, but he is not very technical. he is also there to be hit and can bang with the best of them as shown in the mabuza and agbeko fights. such a hard fight for mares, best of luck to him.
