It didn't garner a lot of attention but his comeback against Flores fell flat when he managed a draw. He began well and he was hitting Flores with everything but the kitchen sink but he couldn't really hurt him even when he hit him with everything he had. Later he got outworked by the younger man and was probably fortunate it wasn't worse. Looked to me like the 135 pound division is too much for him not to mention he's 36. Maybe this will get the desire to fight out of his system because there are some killers in this division that would really hurt him at this point.

He was never known as a power puncher at the lighter weight and he sure as heck isn’t at 135. Mares strength has been his good boxing and quickness but with no power and speed , gone at 36 years old , he needs to listen to his wife and stay retired.

Hopefully that was enough for him to see that he should not continue. If he fights a world class guy he'll get stretched badly.

His chin also doesn't look the same, or maybe that comes from fighting bigger guys. He's thoroughly done and shouldn't climb into a ring again.
