true these guyre old but it's happening throughout the sport. and well paced. it wasnt long ago since being 30 was a retirement age for boxers. now we have pretty decent 40 year olds still fighting competativly. look at saoul mamby 61 years of age and he is still able to win rounds. im not saying you can be a champ at 60 but the point is that you can still be competative now at mature ages. also to take in that heavwieght division have always taken in the the olde one becuase you dont need a wieght limit and all you need to is to punch to win. i think it's not helped that some old guys are beating the younger ones into retirement
Because it isn't like people in Eastern Europe don't play hockey and rugby, two sports where (sans NFL linemen) the average size combined with the necessary endurance for either sport makes those men a much more natural fit for the heavyweight division. The average size of a hockey player now is about 6'2" and 225 (traditional heavy), and the guys in rugby average about 6'2" or so and 235 or so pounds.
The top 10 reads like a Moscow phone book. The best European fighters are playing hockey and soccer right now.
They have a lot of older fighters like Holyfield, Rahman, Tua, Briggs too high and Liakhovich is too high too. Fighters like Dimitrenko, Virchis and Gomez etc. should be higher.
