    Yea about every 20 years or so an American Heavy Phenomenon
    will come on the scene.The world and the world of boxing stands still.
    There was Jack Dempsey , Joe Lewis , Rocky Marciano , Ali
    and of course Iron Mike Tyson ! Guess what time it is now?
    Is he coming ? Will he be here in time.

    Probably not in time. He will be a little late. Just when the Klitschkos retire he will appear on the horizon.

    I totally disagree. 1985 Mike Tyson electrified the sport. He made the Heavyweight division relevant again.

    Absolutely. Mike won't ever be an ATG on his career as a whole, but his prime - there's no disputing him.

    This is when you need to separate Mike Tyson the person from Mike Tyson the fighter.

    Make no mistake, Mike Tyson is an All Time Great Fighter and top a 10 Heavyweight Champion and he was the last of the old school Heavyweight Champions.

    If anything, among those mentioned, I mean if you really want to get technical, Jack Dempsey has nothing on Mike Tyson.

    that was all the time before the iron wall fall, after the fall of the soviet union, the "russian" guys were allowed to box professional, so there will be no american champion in the next time...
    what would have been if there was never a iron wall, and the cubans and russians were allowed to box, i bet that they were not so many great american heavyweight champions...

    That may be so but Dempsey, Louis, Marciano, Ali and Mike Tyson would have still shone regardless.
