These guys had no interest in Maskaev's previous defense, they haven't shown an interest in PETER since the KLIT fight... ...I wouldn't be suprised if the broadcast has several comments about how KLIT is the "most recognized" champ...and the winner of Saturday's fight will only then be in the running to be champion. This is afterall a Don KING card, and his stock has been down with Hollywood Boxing Office for quite sometime.
Are you trying to tell us that the winner of Maskaev vs. Peter will be a more recognized champ than Klitschko?
Absolutely not, is that what you read...??? I just won't be suprised if Hollywood Boxing Office treats this as a minor league affair.
If you were HBO, would you be all that excited about these two guys? Peter does bring excitement as a puncher, but he hasn't looked terribly impressive in quite a while. Also, he's been fighting on Showtime, so he doesn't have any established momentum at HBO.
This is true, I just dont get why this fights not on showtime. I wonder if the Haye fight being scheduled on the same night, had anything to do with the Peter/Maskaev fight being on HBO?
I think HBO has been a little hesitant to jump aboard the Peter train after all the Toney rematch/delaying, and now the Maskaev posturing and delaying. I'd be willing to be this fight would have more steam if Peter hadn't looked so bad against McCline. The division needs him in top form. I hope he rolls Maskaev.
Same here, the Mccline should of been a wake up call to him, if he doesnt come into this fight in top shape, he has himslef to blame, coming into weigh in at 250 is unacceptable IMO, it's a god damn title shot, against a good oppenent, not a walk over like Julius Long.
You mean they will talk about other guys in the division. WOW that never happens. HELLO Captain Obvious!:hi:
No, I meant what I stated...that they will probably portray it as a minor league affair. At least one of us has a grasp of the obvious...
I don't think they'll treat it as a minor league affair, but probably will turn a skeptical eye toward Peter. Hopefully, he'll shine on Saturday and put the McCline fight in the rearview mirror.
Discussing Wlad,Chagaev and the division is very relevant no matter who the broadcast team. They cant just put on 2 HW "Championship" fights within a short time and not have some kind of discussion/explanation about it.
