With the Floyd/Shane fight coming up everyone is picking Floyd(i am too) and saying Shane is too old, has taken too long a layoff etc. Another thing i hear is that we shouldnt read too much into the margarito fight becasue he was "tailor made" for shane. If i recall correctly he was just as big of an underdog going into that fight and many people expected margarito to retire Shane in brutal fashion. I know Floyd is NOTHING like Margarito but i still think SSM is a live underdog and should get more respect because if he were to win i wouldnt be shocked at all unless he does it by devastating KO. I know most consider this a huge fight so why are so many overlooking the old dog?

Everyone does seem to be overlooking Mosley a little bit, but I think it's more of a case of everyone consciously or subconsciously realizing that Mayweather is just that damn good. Just looking at their records it's extremely hard to pick against Mayweather.

What do u records have to do with anyting?

firstly mosley is better than any opponent than Floyds resume.

Mosley has as many KO's as floyd has wins. Secondly the 5 losses, maybe aside from cotto, i mean vernon and winky on shanes resume can also possilbly beat floyd. thirdly, mosley's losses are padded bc of the fact he gave the fighters vernon and winky rematches. in other words, shane could easily be 46-3 with 39 ko's - dont knock him for being a warrior. Fourth, if floyd fought the following men at 147 and above what would his record loook like:

cotto, margarito, collazo, vernon forrest, winky wright, raul marquez (southpaw), wilfredo rivera, vargas, mayorga, antonio diaz.....

floyd basically has been dodging the welterweight division for 5 years while campaigning as a welterweight.

I agree he is being overlooked.

Even though Margarito's style was beneficial to his own, Mosley himself looked good technically, with handspeed, footspeed, and a steady quick jab. If Margarito was a slick technical boxer and not a forward-walking puncher, those things would still reveal themselves in Shane's conditioning. He was not a "human punching bag" as some would like to suggest, and Shane's combos were sharp.

Exactly. He wasnt a human punching bag, he was actually the puching machine or "TJ Tornado" as his nickname states. Like i said margo is no floyd but if Brother Nasim can give Shane a plan he can execute i will not be surprised if he pulls out a victory.

I tend to think the same but, i thought Tony would walk him down and beat him from pillar to post also. I just dont wanna jump the gun cause shane can fight! :bbb
