What's the deal? Why can't anybody get some cajones and just fight the man. Cotto has been ordered to fight him, but says nobody owns his career. Froch said he's too risky. Ward will duck by just asking for too much money as a cover up. WTF? I don't understand. If you lose you lose. Is it actually fear? Like they don't want to receive physical harm.
I actually gained some respect when Froch basically admitted to wanting no part of him. At least he's telling it like it is.
Because Golovkin has skills and can punch with power. If GGG was as easy to beat as some people think, then he wouldn't be as avoided as he is. People in boxing, who know more about boxing than fans do, know that GGG is the goods.
You don't know what the term "duck" means in boxing. You're an armchair lol... Pac ducked Floyd in 09, fact lol. And later on Pac got knocked unconscious lol.:rofl
That's like asking, "why don't swimmers try to swim up a waterfall?" They aren't afraid, they just look at the task and realize they don't posses the tools to succeed.
Think about it. Lets say you're in, I don't know, Quillin's shoes. You're looking to make bigger money. You can fight Golovkin for $2 mil, or Lee for $1.5 mil. Lee is less risky, you'll still get paid, win win. Then your other option, Golovkin, extremely high risk, slightly more pay. But if you lose? Then your future payday goes down the drain. It's not just the Golovkin fight, it's the fights afterwards. It's pretty good short term, but long term it sucks. You will lose not only that fight, but fans, and that following payday, and the one after. Golovkin will set you back a few fights. It's not Golovkin they're afraid of, it's the price of losing. And I'm not saying I agree with it, it sucks. But how many of you would do the same? Bravery, sadly, won't get you very far. Unless you got the skills to go with it. Fight Golovkin when it's worth it.
Good post. But there is no way Golovkin can become a massive PPV superstar unless he fights the top names. Cotto, Froch, Ward, etc. For example, Pacquiao became a massive PPV star because he thrashed Barrera. If Barrera doesn't have the cajones to fight Pac then we are possibly looking at Pac seriously never becoming a star and nobody wanting to fight him. Would Morales been motivated to fight Pac if he didn't beat Barrera? Hell no. You need that 1 A level fighter to just say screw it I'll fight him.
Best thing Quillin could do is keep his mouth shut and go about his business. He talks like he is the man in the division despite turning this fight down at least twice.
To some this is all Golovkin's fault and it is him who needs to work harder and make these fights. LOL
what about Canelo? Canelo is strong, i think he entered the ring against Floyd around 165... he can definitely make weight to fight Golovkin
