Why do people keep countering my jabs with bodyshots?

your legs are in the wrong position or you're not tucking your chin if you're getting hit with that shot. in order for someone to hit you in the temple out of that stance, they need to be close enough. if you're in range and you're countering, your not keeping your chin down and your right side isn't sunk enough to deflect the punch. watch how arturo gatti is trying to shoulder roll against floyd, and it's not working.

Could be a number of reasons.. Are they hitting you on both sides or just one? I'd need to see the circumstances to tell you. A lot of good fighters will go to the body against a prolific jabber. Gomez in particular would use the jab to the body with great effect to start taking the legs away from the fighter. Whats happening?

You can parry the jab with your right glove.

If they throw a straight right, thats when you shield off with your
shoulder - and counter with a straight right of your own.

Mayweather often just lays back and counters with a right over the
top, but he is the only one Ive seen that can do that.

I suggest you go watch some James Toney fights.
